In terms of power, this Amilcar C6 is equipped with an in-line 6-cylinder 1100 cc, dual overhead camshaft turbocharged engine, although the exact power parameters of the engine are unknown, but the aluminum lightweight structure it uses is quite advanced in that era, when only a small number of pure racing cars will use such processes and materials, and the current number of this car in the world is no more than 20.
Paul Woodward, chief mechanic from Thornley Kelham's restoration company, carried out a fine refurbishment of the car. Paul Woodward has studied the Amelcar C6 model very thoroughly, and this is the fifth model he has worked on.
Paul Woodward rebuilt the amilcar C6's engine, tweaking the complex dual overhead cam air distribution system. This requires a lot of experience and patience, with repeated and many adjustments to ensure that the system is properly installed and operated, and that the cylinders achieve the correct compression ratio of 1:7.
In the process of repairing the turbocharger, the machinists hand-cast a thicker, stronger shell, solving an innate weakness of this turbocharger. And the use of a lip-shaped sealing ring instead of a traditional felt pad solved the turbine gas problem and gave the Amilcar C6 a more powerful supercharger.
In fact, the entire chassis including the engine, gearbox and clutch drivetrain assembly have been finely repaired, and the entire vehicle has reached or even exceeded its original state.
