Now there are a number of overseas modification agencies that are particularly fond of using Tesla's electric units to convert a batch of classic cars into pure electric cars, and ECD Automotive Design Company is one of them.
Speaking of ECD Automotive Design, which may be familiar to some, it is the English abbreviation of East Coast Defenders. They are best at retrofitting Land Rover Defender classic cars, and this time they completely modified two Land Rover Defender D110s to change their powertrain from an internal combustion engine to pure electric.
This is not their first attempt. In 2021, ECD changed an old Range Rover to pure electric and invited the media to conduct a test drive. This time they used the same technique to transform the old Land Rover Defender, and both cars were assembled in the United States.
ECD named the pure circuit Tiger Guard "Project Britton" (Britton Plan), the power unit of the car uses Tesla's three-electric system, and the modified pure electric guard accelerates from 100 kilometers in only 5 seconds. The battery pack uses a capacity of 100 degrees, and the range can reach 354 kilometers at full power, and it takes at least 5 hours to fully charge.
The electric Version Defender D110 is painted with "Cool Khaki Gray" paint with five aluminium decorative panels, and the roof is made of Alpine white paint, with a luggage rack, a foldable climbing spiral, HELLA 500 series spotlights, and a front grill bracket and winch. The door frame and some air intake parts are cnc metal cuts, making this old guard look more textured.
To match the overall design, ECD also equipped the car with an 18-inch custom wheel, which is particularly shaped like the five-star wheels of the Ferrari F40. The tires are from the Baluch series, the suspension is made of ECD air suspension, and the braking system is equipped with the Brembo caliper series.
In terms of interior, ECD created a "2+2+2" six-seat seat layout for the car, and the front and second row seats use the Recaro Expert S series, which supports electric heating and ventilation. The seats are made from the same Porsche Nappa leather and are quilted with diamonds. This diamond stitching process also pervades the interior of the car, such as the door panels, the center console and the trunk area.
The steering wheel uses the classic wooden steering wheel of the Evander series, and the rear is a mechanical instrument panel exclusively created by ECD, with some stainless steel decorative parts inside. The last two rows of seats are in a longitudinal layout, and the interior of the cargo compartment is wrapped in solid wood. In terms of technology configuration, the car is equipped with Alpine touch central control screen, car Wi-Fi, mobile phone wireless charging, USB interface, and Yanfeilis audio. In terms of safety, the car is equipped with blind spot monitoring, 360-degree panoramic imagery and rear parking radar.
While the ECD did not disclose the price of the car, according to ecd's previous pricing habits, the car will not fall below $200,000.
