A female prisoner was taken to the execution ground and beheaded, and after her death, strange things happened, and none of the officials involved ended well

July 13, 1907 is an unforgettable day for the Chinese people, on this day, the female heroine Qiu Jin was arrested by the Qing army at the Datong Academy in Shaoxing. That night, Guifu, the prefect of Shaoxing, interrogated Qiu Jin, and the torture equipment above the lobby was ready and murderous.

In the face of Gui fu's interrogation, Qiu Jin smiled contemptuously, looked up at the sky, and did not say a word. Guifu had no choice but to order torture, and all the kneeling chains of fire and fire bricks came all over again, but there was still no progress. As a prefect, Guifu had seen many prisoners, but he was as stubborn as Qiu Jin, and he was still the first time in his life that he had met, and in desperation, he had to announce his resignation.

The next morning, Qiu Jin was interrogated by Li Zhongyue of San'in Zhi County. Although Li Zhongyue was an official of the Qing Dynasty, he still admired the strange woman in front of him in his heart, so Li Zhongyue's attitude was relatively peaceful, and he did not force Qiu Jin to answer anything, nor did he use torture. Qiu Jin did not accuse Li Zhongyue in the hall, but only said, "What I advocate is a male and female revolution, and I don't know what laws have been violated." She took a brush and wrote the poem "Autumn Wind and Autumn Rain Sorrow" on the confession paper to express her lament for the defeat of the revolution.

The prefect Guifu thought that Li Zhongyue's interrogation was too civilized, and in order to make Qiu Jin confess, he instead sent his staff member Yu Mou to inflict heavy punishments, and Qiu Jin was mighty and unyielding, guarding his mouth like a bottle, and scolding the dog official from beginning to end. Qiu Jin gritted her teeth to hold back the severe pain, fainted several times, and was as strong as iron. The hard bones of the JianHu Woman shocked the dog officers and pawns in the lobby.

Guifu knew that it was hopeless to obtain a confession from Qiu Jin's mouth, so on July 14 he called Zhang Zengyang (Zhang Zhidong's son) in Zhejiang and requested that Qiu Jin be "brought to justice on the spot" so that the revolutionaries would not come and rob the prison. Zhang Zengyang immediately replied to the telegram and agreed.

In the early morning of July 15, dozens of Qing soldiers with live ammunition raised Qiu Jin from prison, and Qiu Jin was calm and relaxed, and her face did not change. Qiu Jin was escorted into the prison cart and walked to xuantingkou, and after Qiu Jin stepped out of the prison cart, she made three demands to the prison officer Li Zhongyue:

First, she was allowed to write a farewell letter to say goodbye to relatives and friends;

Second, do not strip naked when you are about to be sentenced;

Third; after death, do not show the head to the public.

Li Zhongyue considered that the first condition took too long and did not conform to the rules, and refused, and agreed to the latter two. Qiu Jin sorted out the long shirt and belt, strode high, and walked to the xuanting mouth, "Fight for 100,000 heads of blood, you must save Qiankun force", 33-year-old Qiu Jin spilled his blood for the revolution.

After Qiu Jin was killed by the Qing court, none of the murderers involved in the murder got a good ending. Zhang Zengyang, the inspector of Zhejiang who approved the killing of Qiu Jin, was pointed out by thousands of people, and could not stay in Zhejiang any longer, and asked to be transferred to Jiangsu, Jiangsu refused to accept it, and requested to be transferred to Shanxi, but shanxi also refused to accept it, and finally had to retire to Hubei to die; the prefect of Shaoxing became the target of public criticism, and he requested to be transferred to Ningguo, Anhui, and the people of Ningguo refused to accept it, so they had no choice but to quit the official field and bury their surnames.

Hu Daonan, who reported Qiu Jin, was soon assassinated; Li Yizhi, who led the army to arrest Qiu Jin, later hid in Guangdong and was also burned in a flower boat in Dashatou; Yu Mou, an aide who tortured Qiu Jin, was also scolded by the Chinese and fled to his hometown, without knowing where he was. Only Li Zhongyue of San'in Zhi County was forgiven and did not receive any punishment.

After Qiu Jin was righteous, the locals used a few thin plates to collect it and bury it in the mass grave mountain. Xu Zihua's sisters wanted to risk death to bury Qiu Jin's body, but they were bitterly dissuaded by their comrades, and waited until a snowy night in winter, when Xu Zihua, Chen Zhiyi, and a West Lake boatman quietly moved Qiu Jin's coffin to the west lake by the Xileng Bridge, and replaced it with a good coffin for burial.
