When he was awarded the title in 1955, the then 36-year-old Jiang Tengjiao was awarded the rank of major general and became a founding major general, and he was also one of the youngest founding major generals at that time. At the time of the award, Jiang Tengjiao was in the stage of being rich and powerful, so he was quickly reused by the organization and began his promotion process. At that time, President Lin also had the intention of wooing Jiang Tengjiao, and under the care of President Lin, in 1967, Jiang Tengjiao was promoted to political commissar of the Air Force of the Nanjing Military Region.

On September 13, 1971, Mr. Lin crashed in a Trident plane near Öndörkhaan Khan in Mongolia, which is the september 13 incident in history. After the September 13 incident, Air Force Commander Wu Faxian was isolated for review, and many cadres in the Air Force system were also isolated and dismissed, including Jiang Tengjiao, political commissar of the Air Force of the Nanjing Military Region. After Jiang Tengjiao was dismissed from his post, a founding major general was ordered to succeed Jiang Tengjiao as the political commissar of the Air Force of the Nanjing Military Region, and this person was Liao Guanxian. So, what is the story of Liao Guanxian? How did he end up?

Liao Guanxian was born in 1914 in Ningdu, Jiangxi. In 1931, at the age of 17, Liao Guanxian joined the Red Army and joined the Red Twelfth Army, serving as a company instructor of the Red Twelfth Army. After joining the Red Army, Liao Guanxian participated in the anti-"encirclement and suppression" battle in the Central Soviet Region, and in October 1934, after the failure of the fifth anti-"encirclement and suppression" campaign, Liao Guanxian participated in the Long March with the Red Army.

In 1937, the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression broke out in full swing, and Liao Guanxian entered the Eighth Route Army and served as the political commissar of the cavalry regiment of the 129th Division. After the establishment of the Jinji-Hebei Luyu base area, Liao Guanxian entered the Fourth Column and served as the political commissar of the 13th Brigade. During the Liberation War, Liao Guanxian continued to serve in the 13th Brigade, serving as director of the political department. After the establishment of the Second Field Army, Liao Guanxian served as the deputy political commissar of the 13th Army, participated in large-scale battles such as the Battle of Huaihai and the Battle of Crossing the River, and made outstanding contributions to the founding of New China.

After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Liao Guanxian served as the political commissar of the Fifteenth Army of the Volunteer Army, led the Fifteenth Army to the Korean Battlefield to defend the country, and made great military achievements in Korea, playing the prestige of the Volunteer Army in the world. In 1955, Liao Guanxian was awarded the rank of major general and became a founding major general, after which he served as political commissar of the 15th Army.

It is worth mentioning that in the early sixties of last century, the state intended to select a unit in the army unit that could recruit good soldiers and reorganize it into an airborne army, at that time there were dozens of candidate troops, and the relevant departments first selected three of these dozens of troops, and handed them over to Liu Yalou for final screening.

Among these dozens of troops was the Fifteenth Army, and General Liu Yalou eventually chose the Fifteenth Army as an airborne troop. To this end, Liu Yalou also specifically said to the political commissar Liao Guanxian: "The Fifteenth Army has played a national prestige in Shangganling, and the whole world knows that we have a Fifteenth Army." From Liu Yalou's evaluation of the Fifteenth Army, we can see that Liao Guanxian is definitely a very good general.

In 1971, after the September 13 Incident, Jiang Tengjiao, political commissar of the Air Force of the Nanjing Military Region, was isolated and examined and dismissed from relevant posts, and at this time the Nanjing Military Region urgently needed a person who knew the Air Force as the political commissar. Objectively speaking, this person must not only understand the development and construction of the Air Force, but also have nothing to do with Mr. Lin and others. After careful consideration by the organization, Liao Guanxian was ordered to succeed Jiang Tengjiao as the political commissar of the Air Force of the Nanjing Military Region.

After serving as the political commissar of the Air Force of the Nanjing Military Region, Liao Guanxian completed the transition work well and stabilized the situation of the Air Force of the Nanjing Military Region. Two years after the September 13 incident, that is, in 1973, the organization officially appointed the air force commander and political commissar, and the air force system was on the right track, and Liao Guanxian's post was replaced by founding major general Xiao Qian. Liao Guanxian, who completed his mission, was transferred to the Wuhan Military Region and continued to serve as the political commissar of the Air Force of the Wuhan Military Region.
