On January 18, the reporter learned from the Anyang task force of the Institute of Archaeology of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences that the team's ongoing archaeological drilling work in and around the Yin Xu Wang Mausoleum area has made new progress, and 2 new ditches and more than 400 sacrifice pits have been found in the Yin Xu Shang Wang Ling District.
The newly discovered east and west ditches are 40 meters apart. The east ditch is completely closed, and the west ditch has been found in the north, east and south sections. The East Wai Ditch surrounds the large tombs and a large number of sacrificial pits in the eastern part of the Royal Tomb. There are more than 460 newly discovered sacrificial pits, mainly found in the eastern section of dongweigou, and the shape is basically the same as that of the yin ruins of previous archaeological excavations, and a few are not excluded as tombs.
Niu Shishan, a researcher at the Anyang Task Force of the Institute of Archaeology of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, said that the newly discovered two ditches may be related to the Shang King's Cemetery.
According to the newly discovered sacrificial pits and ditches, the eastern boundary of the Shangwang Mausoleum District is on a north-south line 100 meters east of the east wall of The King's Tomb Park. These discoveries changed the pattern of the Shang King Mausoleum and will promote the study of the Shang Dynasty mausoleum system and even the Shang culture and Shang history.
