"In 1980, I walked into Peking University and chose to major in archaeology, and since then I have formed an indissoluble relationship with the vast land of the motherland. In 1984, I walked out of Yanyuan and walked into Sanxingdui... Although many of sanxingdui's discoveries are accidental, there is actually an inevitability in chance. We archaeologists never believe in luck, and archaeologists only believe in the reward of heavenly rewards. Recalling the fate of decades and Sanxingdui, Lei Yu, a researcher at the Sichuan Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology and the director of the archaeological workstation of the Sanxingdui site, was full of emotions.

In the following months, pits 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 were confirmed.
"In 1986, I was in a physical condition, tuberculosis, and went back to my hometown in Chongqing to recuperate, so I missed the excavation of Pit 1 and Pit 2 perfectly, and I felt a little sorry." After 34 years, Sanxingdui restarted excavations, and the pressure of thunderstorms ensued, and he not only had to participate in the excavation of the sacrificial area, but more importantly, he also had to compile the previous archaeological excavation reports of Sanxingdui.

After 34 years, the excavation technology and conditions are no longer what they used to be. The excavations in 1986 were emergency rescue excavations, and archaeologists went to the battlefield without any preparation; today's excavations are active excavations with clear academic purposes and excavation plans.
From the soil environment monitoring before excavation to the establishment of archaeological cabins at the excavation site, in this round of excavations, on-site excavation and cultural relics protection are carried out simultaneously and cooperate with each other, which ensures the stability of the buried environment of cultural relics to the greatest extent.
