On December 20, 2019, Xinhua News Agency released a newsletter entitled "Sanxingdui No. 3 Sacrifice Pit Emerges". Based on the golden age of Chinese archaeology, Sanxingdui archaeology has opened a new chapter.
Since walking out of Peking University in 1984, the pursuit of the mysterious and splendid ancient Shu country has almost become a lifelong career of Thunderstorm. Unfortunately, due to illness, he missed the on-site excavation of the No. 1 and No. 2 sacrifice pits of the Sanxingdui site in 1986, until 2019, the No. 3 sacrifice pit was shocked. Since then, he has begun his "reunion" with the Sanxingdui sacrifice pit.
At 8:00 p.m. on April 29, the first episode of the large-scale archaeological documentary "See Sanxingdui Again", "Reunion", will be broadcast on the CCTV documentary channel, and at 9:20 p.m. on Sichuan Satellite TV, telling the story of Thunderstorm and Sanxingdui.
Sichuan Radio and Television Station lasted three years, tracked and recorded this archaeological event, planned and produced six episodes of ultra-high-definition archaeological documentaries, taking archaeologists and important cultural relics in the excavation process as the story fulcrum, showing the archaeology of the new era with Chinese characteristics, Chinese style and Chinese style, as well as the humanistic spirit of generations of Chinese archaeologists to explore and seek the truth.
In 2020, Sanxingdui No. 4 to No. 8 sacrifice pits were discovered one after another. The newly discovered 6 sacrificial pits have surprised the world like dismantling the "blind box", and at the same time, a large-scale archaeological excavation that has attracted much attention has aroused public attention and has repeatedly appeared on the hot search.
After 34 years, the excavation technology and conditions are no longer what they used to be. The excavation in 1986 was an emergency rescue excavation, and archaeologists rushed to the battlefield without any preparation before; today's excavation is an active excavation with a clear academic purpose and excavation plan, and archaeologists are fully prepared.

From the soil environment monitoring before excavation to the establishment of archaeological cabins at the excavation site, in this round of excavations, on-site excavation and cultural relics protection are carried out simultaneously and cooperate with each other, which ensures the stability of the buried environment of cultural relics to the greatest extent. The multidisciplinary research carried out simultaneously with the excavation has brought together experts and scholars from more than 40 universities, scientific research institutions and cultural institutions at home and abroad, which has brought richer thinking angles and more diversified technical routes to restore the historical appearance of Sanxingdui. Sanxingdui, which gathers the top academic and technical forces in the Chinese archaeological community today, has restarted archaeological excavations in the sacrificial area in the world's attention.

From reunion to questioning, people imagine what happened here more than three thousand years ago? As one of the capitals of the ancient Shu Kingdom, what kind of life did the Sanxingdui people live? What is their religion? And what kind of connection did it maintain with the Shang Dynasty in the Central Plains? These questions are still controversial even in academia, and can these controversies be answered in this excavation?
The documentary "See You Again Sanxingdui" not only focuses on the on-site excavation, but also focuses on the archaeologists behind the excavations, showing the spiritual outlook and humanistic temperament of archaeologists in the new era with vivid stories and real details, exploring the value and significance of archaeological work, and recording the legends interpreted by countless archaeologists.
