Unlike other films with Sanxingdui as the theme, "See You Again Sanxingdui" does not take the excavated artifacts, especially the excavated artifacts of the sacrificial pit, as the sole protagonist of the story, but focuses on the sanxingdui archaeologists and tells the story of Sanxingdui around their work and life. The more than 10 characters involved in the film include traditional archaeologists engaged in field archaeological excavation and research, as well as professionals in various aspects of cultural relics protection, artifact restoration, and scientific and technological archaeology; there are experts, scholars, technicians and ordinary staff, and college students who are still studying and preparing to go to Sanxingdui to engage in cultural and expo work in the future. Their daily work, mental journey, amateur life and even joys and sorrows during the Sanxingdui archaeological excavation are the focus of the film. Through the daily work of these archaeologists of different professions, the professional knowledge in the fields of field excavation, cultural relics protection and scientific and technological archaeology, as well as the new archaeological discoveries in the sacrificial area of the Sanxingdui site, are comprehensively displayed to the audience, and this narrative method is both vivid and interesting, which is refreshing.
Thanks to the intervention in the second archaeological excavation process of the Sanxingdui site sacrifice area at the beginning, the comrades of the Sichuan Radio and Television Station not only stayed in Sanxingdui for many years to shoot, but also involved many areas in Sichuan Province, even as far as Beijing, Hangzhou, Xi'an, Hefei and other places, thus accumulating a large amount of video material and fully displayed in the documentary.
