In the Battle of Langshan, the main attackers were the 55th Army of the Guangzhou Military Region and the 162nd Division of the 54th Army, and the predecessor of the 55th Army was the Chen Mingren Corps of the Changsha Uprising, and the combat experience was also rich.
The 54th Army was the ace unit of the Central Military Commission, the predecessor of which was the 45th Army and the 44th Army of the Fourth Field Army, and the 44th Army was thrown under the famous Deng Hua in the early stage, and the Tiger General naturally had no weak soldiers. Encircling a key point of the enemy put great pressure on them militarily, leaving a gap that forced the enemy to send a large number of reinforcements to the rescue. Xu Shiyou
This is also the embodiment of the effective forces of annihilating the enemy army in the operational guiding ideology of the People's Liberation Army, and in the previous Huaihai Campaign, the People's Liberation Army used this method of encircling points to provide assistance and directly annihilating the elite of the national army, which laid the foundation for the liberation of the whole country.

As for why the People's Liberation Army did not take down the main force in Hanoi in one fell swoop, it was actually because if it suddenly attacked Hanoi, it would be an invasion, and the negative political influence would be very bad for the mainland.
