At the beginning of 1979, at the instigation of the Soviet Union, Vietnam took the initiative to provoke the Sino-Vietnamese War, that is, the "War of Self-Defense and Counterattack against Vietnam".
At that time, the mainland did not want to go to war with Vietnam, so it repeatedly issued border warnings to let Vietnam take over as soon as possible. However, at that time, Vietnam not only did not follow the advice, but instead intensified, believing that our army was deliberately evading. So on February 17, 1979, the mainland finally decided to take armed measures to counterattack Vietnam.
At that time, the mainland had just ended a decade of chaos, and a series of economic and military problems had arisen, but even under such circumstances, our army did not change its decision, but spent about a month to successfully occupy more than 20 important towns in Vietnam, and after the end of the Battle of Lang Son, began to return to the DPRK.
Now that the Sino-Vietnamese war has ended for 40 years, why has the invincible Vietnam always been very honest? Mainly because they lost one thing in that war that year—self-confidence. We all know that in the military, self-confidence represents morale. A force of 100,000 troops, if there is no morale, even if the number is more, it will not be able to defeat 10,000 people, so self-confidence is really important!
