Counterattack against the Vietnamese self-defense: He deliberately took the whole class to bask in the sun, and the Vietnamese army found out and sneaked in at night

After the founding of New China, it did not always have a peaceful environment; at the beginning of the founding of the People's Republic of China, there were also self-defense counterattacks against Vietnam, and it was many brave people who forged our current stability with their blood.

In 1979, the People's Liberation Army entered Vietnam to conduct a month-long large-scale punitive operation, and thought that Vietnam would relent, but it did not expect it to intensify, continuing to invade the mainland border, build fortifications, and open fire and wound the mainland soldiers and civilians, so there was a round war that lasted for ten years.

This decade is also an important stage in the counterattack against vietnamese self-defense, and many characters who can sing and cry have also emerged, such as the first-class combat hero Du Changlin.

Counterattack against the Vietnamese self-defense: He deliberately took the whole class to bask in the sun, and the Vietnamese army found out and sneaked in at night

Du Changlin was born in November 1964 in Anqing City, Anhui Province, and joined the army in November 1982 because of his outstanding performance, and joined the party in 1984.

In March 1985, Du Changlin, then the squad leader, followed the 67th Army to the LaoShan front to participate in the defense against Vietnam, and in mid-May, Du Changlin's connection defended the 9 positions at the forefront of Laoshan Songmaoling, while his squad was at the forefront of the 140 positions in the company.

The front post of the 140 position was only more than ten meters away from the Vietnamese defense area, and the only cat ear hole was still transformed by using a stone crack, which was made of enemies on three sides, very dangerous, but also like a sharp knife inserted into the enemy's heart.

This position is of great strategic value, and both China and Vietnam regard it as a place of contention. After Du Changlin took over, he immediately led the whole class to investigate the life trajectory of the Vietnamese troops on the other side, and then launched the whole class to strengthen the fortifications when the enemy was not ready, using his hands to cut stones and planing soil in the stone cracks, and even cut out 4 more posts under the enemy's nose, and also planted more than 300 mines along the line.

All these have greatly improved the defensive environment and also given Duchanglin confidence.

Du Changlin saw that the Vietnamese army was slow to come, and our army was not good at attacking, and felt that this battle was a bit suffocating, so he gathered the whole class of soldiers to discuss countermeasures, and finally the crowd decided to "show the enemy to be weak and lure the enemy deeper."

For many consecutive days after that, Du Changlin led the soldiers in the squad to show a lax appearance when training on the position, and from time to time they also basked in the sun and bragged together. After about ten days, the Vietnamese army actually moved.

It turned out that the Vietnamese army had also been observing our army, and they believed that the newly replaced troops were lax in discipline, had no momentum, and their combat effectiveness was certainly very weak, and their ambitions for aggression were aroused.

In the early morning of May 27, 1985, more than a dozen people from a squad of the Vietnamese army took advantage of the darkness to come to the 140 position, they thought that the PLA soldiers on the 140 position were loose and collapsed during the day, and they must be unprepared at night, so the sneak attack would be successful.

However, Du Changlin deliberately used their psychology to lay mines and dark sentries on the major roads, and the enemy dared to come to the right place.

Before the excited Vietnamese army could rush to the position, it had already stepped on the mine array, and five people were killed in an instant, and the rest fled in a hurry. On May 31, the Vietnamese army, which was not willing to suffer losses, launched a larger attack, and Du Changlin calmly called for superior artillery support to repel the enemy's attack.

On the 140 position, Du Changlin led the whole squad to hold out for 96 days, repelling more than 20 sneak attacks and attacks of the Vietnamese squads, platoons, and companies, and annihilating 82 enemy soldiers. Therefore, Du Changlin was promoted to platoon leader and awarded the second class meritorious service once.

After the change of troops, Du Chang Lam began to carry out surprise missions, and on December 2, 1985, his superiors ordered him to go forward and pull out the 405 heights occupied by the Vietnamese army. The Vietnamese army regarded the high ground as a strategic powerhouse, equipped with a reinforced platoon, and many heavy weapons, which was absolutely easy to defend and difficult to attack.

Du Changlin was the leader of the third commando team at that time, he led his troops to quickly capture the surface position of the main peak, and then organized the commandos to search and suppress, there were a total of 8 caves on the high ground, 7 of which were quickly taken down, but a no. 5 hole was stubbornly resisting, so that the battle was in a state of stalemate.

In order to break the deadlock as soon as possible, Du Changlin slowly approached Hole 5 on the steep wall of the front along a stone gap.

The enemy in the cave was constantly firing guns and throwing grenades, and at the same time, an enemy high ground not far away also concentrated light and heavy machine guns around the mouth of the cave in an attempt to prevent the third commando of our army from approaching.

Du Changlin took advantage of the gap between the fire blockades, quickly approached the mouth of the cave, and then pulled 2 explosive packs and threw them into the hole. After two loud noises, he rushed into the cave with a submachine gun and pressed against the wall of the cave to search for the enemy.

About seven or eight meters into the cave, Du Changlin found another branch hole, he was keenly aware that there were still remnants of the enemy in the cave, at this time his explosive pack had run out, so he pulled a grenade and threw it into the hole, and as soon as the explosion sounded, he retreated in the opposite direction to the mouth of the cave. Then he blocked the entrance to the cave with fire while asking for help from the company command post.

At this time, Chen Guang, the leader of the squad in Cave No. 8, heard the shouting and rushed over, and the two of them entered the cave together.

At a bend in the cave, Du Changlin spotted a badly wounded Vietnamese soldier, and he was about to go forward to check it out, when an enemy shot at him in a hole on the back left side, he dodged it quickly, and then threw a grenade and raised his gun to strafe. The 4 Vietnamese soldiers hiding in the cave were all killed.

In the course of his subsequent search, he eliminated two more Vietnamese troops, and by this time, all enemies on the 405 high ground had been eliminated.

Du Changlin reported this situation to his superiors, at this time he also received the news of the death of deputy company commander Liang Ling, in order to prevent the enemy from counterattacking, the superior also asked Du Changlin to act as deputy company commander and command the troops to continue fighting.

He forcibly endured grief and used the radio to get in touch with various combat groups, and then led his comrades to fight bloodily until 6 p.m. on December 3, during which he repelled 24 counterattacks of the enemy's size and scale, and always firmly held his position!

Especially in the last counterattack of the enemy, Du Changlin was unfortunately shot in the head, and after shock, he was rescued from the position by his comrades. That saved his life.

Such a brave deed soon spread throughout the Laoshan battlefield, and his superiors recorded him as a first-class merit, and in May 1986, the Central Military Commission awarded Du Changlin the honorary title of "Combat Hero".

After leaving the battlefield, Du Changlin remained in the army, successively serving as deputy company commander, instructor, deputy director of the political department, instructor, deputy political commissar of the regiment, deputy director of the division's political department, etc., and only transferred from the post of deputy political commissar of the Zaozhuang Military Sub-district in 2012. Later, he worked in the Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Shandong Province.

Now he maintains the spirit of chinese soldiers no matter where he goes, and his own existence is also an excellent patriotic education!

Whenever I see these heroes, I will think of a sentence: Where there are good years, but someone is carrying the weight for you. I really thank them for using their bodies to shield us from the wind and rain! Let the motherland be stable and peaceful!
