Not only that, Kangxi also made an exception to summon Hongli's mother, Niu Cobalt Lushi, and praised her as a blessed person who gave birth to such a good son as Hongli. After Yongzheng heard this, he was even more fond of the Niu Cobalt Lu clan, and as soon as he ascended the throne, he made him a concubine of Xi, and then a concubine of Xi. After Qianlong ascended the throne, the Niu Cobalt Lu clan was honored as the empress dowager.
