This extended family, known as "Big Fish Public Welfare Mother Farm", is located in Beichuan Qiang Autonomous County, Mianyang City, Sichuan Province. Relying on government funding and social donations, the staff raises more than 20 children from disadvantaged families in the surrounding mountains.

Because the farm is transformed from an abandoned farmhouse, the space is very large, the facilities and layout are old and unreasonable, and it lacks the atmosphere of "home".

With only one window, the room is dimly lit, and the children share a small desk and do not have their own storage space, so the collective life cannot meet the children's desire for private space.
The kitchen cooking and cooking line settings are unreasonable, and there are basic problems such as dampness and dimness.
As a common area integrating the dining room, kitchen, and library, the library does not have enough space to distinguish, and it looks quite chaotic.

Considering the safety issue, the front square uses a traffic line to divide the front square into two large blocks: the parking lot and the activity area.

In order to allow the children to have a comfortable and clean environment, the entire front square has been re-laid with permeable concrete, and the drainage system has also been redesigned, using invisible stainless steel gutters to reduce mosquito breeding.
The white clouds are light, white, and gentle, symbolizing the warm embrace of the mother, and these clouds are a canopy and a shelter for everyone.
The gray space connected by the flowing canopy and the mountain-like corridor adds a connection between the buildings between the sites.
The semi-outdoor space system also adds a lot of comfortable outdoor activity space for children, even if the weather changes, they can play outdoors.

▲ In the past, the laundry and drying area was chaotic and disorderly, and the designers also re-planned it, and it can be used as a place for children to carry out activities and read in the morning.

The open atrium in the common area has been transformed into a living room to welcome the children home, and it is also a showroom for the farm to receive guests.
The designer specially collected some seeds in the mountains where the children grew up, sealed them in resin blocks, and displayed them in the reception space, hoping that these familiar plants can evoke the children's good memories and become important memories in their growth process.

Open the door next to it, which is the room that every child must pass through when they come to their mother's farm, and where every child's dream begins.
The other room was defined by the designer as Yunmeng Whisper, giving children a quiet space.

The bottom of the staircase is actually a storage space reserved by the designer, which is not only used as a storage space for books and bags, but also for the daily life items of children.

There are more children, and the frequency of use in public areas is higher, in order to make the entire space wear-resistant, dirty-resistant and comfortable space effect, the designer deliberately chose wear-resistant, non-slip inorganic terrazzo (terrazzo with cement as the bonding material).
Woodwork made of bamboo as a substrate can provide a healthier and more caring environment for children.

The integrated stove makes the fumes smaller, and the steaming and grilling integrated built-in oven and dishwasher also reduce the burden on the staff.
The restaurant also serves as a children's craft activity room, while the shelves serve as a display space for everyday finished products.

The dormitory area is fully opened, and the space is optimized.

The boys' dormitory has a total of 6 rooms, divided into double and quadruple rooms, some of which are children's rooms, and some of which are also reserved for volunteers and visiting families.
Now even if four children sleep in a dormitory, the roller blinds on the ceiling beams allow them to have their own private space, and the scene where four people used to share a small table will never appear again.
