When it comes to repairing cars, the first choice for many masters is to go to 4S or car repair shops
But many car owners know that the maintenance routines of 4S shops and quick repair shops are basically based on replacement repairs, on the one hand, they can save the waiting time for the masters to repair the car, and they can also change to new parts. A rough calculation seems to save a lot of time and energy for the masters, but in fact, it is still some maintenance routines generated for profit.
Today, Tai Ge came to talk to you about these routines of "replacing repairs" about what is going on, and is the maintenance really pitting people.
Changing pieces is not a big deal
Rising premiums really hurt
For many of the old people who have bought full insurance, they often encounter this situation, when the car crashes or runs to the store to consult maintenance. Most of the reception staff will ask the masters to replace the corresponding accessories directly and can provide insurance services.
Although this sounds very well served, the repair shop will not be responsible for the problem of the premium increase in the following year after the insurance.

Taige once claimed glass in 2016, the claim payment was 900 yuan, but when the insurance company bought it in 2017, it was 22% off, under normal circumstances, if you do not settle the claim, the commercial insurance as a whole can be discounted by 43%. So the overall difference is 0.3, my commercial insurance was 3500 when I bought it the year before, that is to say, in fact, if I pay for it, the insurance company can discount 1050 yuan, claim 900 yuan, 1050 is not discounted, and when I bought it in 2018, I still discounted it on the basis of 2017. How much more to pay, there is no detailed calculation.
But summed up an experience: in general, for inexpensive cars, small claims (compulsory traffic insurance less than 500, commercial insurance less than 1000) to pay for it themselves. Scratches, glass, these insurance types with a large probability of claims and a small amount of claims do not need to be bought.
Although for the problem of rising premiums the following year, perhaps many masters can accept it. But the 3 pieces that Tiger said next can actually be repaired and the maintenance technician will always fool the masters to replace.
Except for the laser headlights
The headlights on the market are basically removable and repairable
In daily driving accidents, the headlights are one of the most vulnerable accessories to be "injured", and it is also one of the accessories with the highest replacement rate. Many old masters will be required by maintenance technicians to replace them in the case of damaged headlights, but the headlight components of the old masters can actually be repaired individually.
There are many accidents in which a single shell is broken
In fact, from the perspective of accidents alone, headlight damage can be roughly divided into three categories: lampshade or base plastic parts broken, luminous original damage and finally the headlight control panel damage.
The highest replacement rate is the damage to the headlight shade and base. Under normal circumstances, the lampshade and base are damaged and only need to be replaced separately. But many stores are reluctant to do so because separating the lampshade and base requires the entire headlamp to be heated to remove the sealant. This is particularly time-consuming, and if there is an error during baking, it will cause the plastic parts of the headlights to deform and scrap. One is for risk considerations, the other is for time and profit considerations, generally require direct replacement.
In fact, all components of the headlamp can be ordered separately, just like the lampshade. The price of the general lampshade is 20%-25% of a headlamp assembly. The replacement of the "dismantling parts" will often be re-repaired by some small workshops or technicians, and then repackaged as "second-hand original parts" to re-sell, and the masters who do not know how to do it are easy to change to "old goods".
As long as it is not a spider web windshield, it can basically be repaired
For the masters who run more high speeds, they may have encountered this situation, and the windshield was cracked by a small stone bullet. At that time, my heart was very complicated, and I was a little sad for a while: if I chose to change a whole windshield, I would get a lot of money; but if I didn't spend money on insurance, it would not exist! An increase in insurance premiums next year is equivalent to paying for it yourself.
For the repair of windshields, many quick repair shops and 4S shops used to have this service. However, in recent years, it has become less and less, because the epoxy glue required to repair the windshield has a long solidification time and is also time-consuming and labor-intensive. And after repairing, the second damage can no longer be repaired. Therefore, technicians generally require direct replacement of windshields for profit and time cost considerations.
After the windshield crack repair, there will generally be no secondary cracking in the same position, and the cost of replacing the windshield is 66 times more expensive than that of epoxy resin repair. In the windshield replacement, the dismantling parts are unlikely. However, it cannot be ruled out that some vicious merchants repair the glass and polish the secondary sales.
As long as the bumper is not broken, it can only be repaired and not replaced
In the past, many technicians would help you fix the putty when the bumper of many cars cracked to repair it, but now most 4S stores will require the whole replacement. Although the cost of replacing the bumper is not particularly cheap, many car owners will choose to change the paint for the sake of the overall aesthetics of the vehicle.
Posture point: For bumper repair, you can generally use the bumper repair to beat the hot melt nail bond and break, scrape the putty and spray paint. The overall construction budget is 50% cheaper than direct bumper replacement. For the bumper, there are original parts and auxiliary parts that are difficult to distinguish with the naked eye, and many repair shops and even 4S stores will "shoddy" camouflage the original parts for maintenance and installation.
Although the replacement repair can allow the masters to use new accessories, it is a wasteful behavior from the perspective of resource allocation, and such a risk replacement will also increase the insurance cost of the following year.
In the market environment where the level of the automotive aftermarket is uneven, the assembly level of new parts may not reach the assembly accuracy of the original factory, and at the same time, when the second-hand car is sold in the future, the bolt twisting caused by the replacement of the accessories and the multiple occurrence records will also affect the selling price.
Why spend a little money to repair the car, why replace it with a new one, right?
