Zhao Yun ,子子龙, from Changshan Zhending (常山真定; present-day Zhengding, Hebei Province). He was eight feet long and majestic in appearance, and was one of the famous Shu Han generals.
At the end of the Han Dynasty, the warlords were in a chaotic battle, and Zhao Yun was elected by Zhending County and led them to join the army of Gongsun Zhan of Baima. During this time, he met Liu Bei, the royal family of the Han Dynasty, but soon after, Zhao Yun chose to leave, and the second time he met was in Yuan Shao's Yecheng.
Zhao Yun, faced with Liu Bei's solicitation, why did he choose to leave and go to Yuan Shao's City of Yicheng instead of Gongsun Zhan's command?
This has to start from 191 AD. In that year, Zhao Yun was elected for Changshan County and led an army to Gongsun Zhan. Gongsun Zhan said to Zhao Yun, "I heard that the people of Jizhou all rely on Yuan Shao, so why did you get lost and come to me? Zhao Yun replied: "The world is in chaos, I don't know who is the Ming Emperor, the people are in danger of hanging upside down." After discussion, if the state wants to restore order, it must rely on righteousness. Therefore, it is not because we personally alienated Mr. Yuan Shao and like you very much, but dayi is here with you. ”
After that, Zhao Yun struggled with Gongsun Zhan.
At that time, Liu Bei was still subordinate to Gongsun Zhan. Liu Bei saw Zhao Yun and recognized Zhao Yun very much. Gongsun Zhan fought against Yuan Shao and sent Tian Kai of Qingzhou to occupy land near Shandong. Yuan Shao also sent tens of thousands of troops to fight for the recapture of the land. Gongsun Zan promoted Liu Bei to Sima beibu and sent him to help Tian Kai resist Yuan Shao.
Zhao Yun went with Liu Bei and was in charge of the cavalry command for Liu Bei.
Later, due to the death of Zhao Yun's brother, Zhao Yun asked Gongsun Zhan to resign and return to his homeland. Liu Bei knew that Zhao Yun would not actually come back to Gongsun Zhan again, so he reluctantly shook Zhao Yun's hand. Zhao Yun said no to Liu Bei: "After all, we can't do anything that violates moral integrity. ”
About seven years after Zhao Yun left Gongsun Zhan, he met Liu Bei at Yecheng and decided to join Liu Bei.
The reason why Zhao Yun resigned to Gongsun Zhan was because Gongsun Zhan was not the great righteousness he longed for, and the death of his brother just gave him a perfect excuse.
Although Zhao Yun recognized Liu Bei, turning to Liu Bei in this way was actually a betrayal of Gongsun Zhan, so he would say that he could not violate morality.
As for returning to Yicheng, it was because the seat of government in Jizhou was Yicheng, and it was not surprising that Zhao Yunshou ended his funeral and appeared in the "provincial capital" of his hometown.
So far, Zhao Yun has followed Liu Bei for nearly 30 years. He fought in bowangpo, Nagasakapo and Pingding Jiangnan. He independently commanded the campaigns into Sichuan, Hanshui and Jigu, and achieved good results.
In addition to fighting in various places, Zhao Yun also successively fought with the Taishou who served as Guiyang, stayed behind to guard the public security with Sima In the camp, and supervised Jiangzhou with the general Yi jun, and achieved great military achievements. After Zhao Yun's death, Liu Chan ordered Zhao Yun's posthumous title "Marquis of Shunping", which means "gentle and kind, deacons have classes, and they will settle disasters", which can be said to appropriately evaluate Zhao Yun's life.
