Yang Jingyu: The leader of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Coalition Army, he was betrayed and died tragically, and his head was sent back to China 18 years later

After the September 18 Incident, the Nationalist government in Nanjing pursued a policy of "non-resistance", and the three northeastern provinces immediately fell. The people of Northeast China did not want their homeland to be lost, so they spontaneously took action to resist the criminal acts of the Japanese aggressors. However, due to the lack of unified leadership, these struggles have never been successful.

At this time, the Communist Party of China stood up and resolutely undertook the heavy responsibility of leading the people to carry out the anti-Japanese struggle and created the Northeast Anti-Japanese Coalition Army.

Yang Jingyu was the earliest organizer and leader of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Alliance. He led the people of the northeast to take up arms and bravely resist the invaders, bringing a glimmer of light to the people of the northeast whose future was bleak. Unfortunately, he was sacrificed because of the traitor's betrayal. His death is still heart-wrenching to this day, especially after his death, the Japanese also cut off his head and hid it, and only after the end of the War of Resistance Against Japan was he able to reappear in the sky and burrow into the ground.

After the fall of the three northeastern provinces, many bloody sons and daughters, unable to bear the pain of the loss of their homeland, spontaneously organized themselves to protect their homeland. The Chinese Communist Party saw the suffering of the people of the northeast and immediately took action.

First of all, the CPC Central Committee called on the people of the whole country to lend a helping hand and use all their strength to help the military and people in the northeast defend their homeland. Second, many leaders publicly denounced the Kuomintang's "non-resistance" policy and spoke out for the military and people in the northeast. Finally, the Central Military Commission selected capable generals to lead the anti-Japanese struggle in the northeast region, and Yang Jingyu was one of them.

Yang Jingyu was not from the northeast, he was born in Henan, and after joining the Chinese Communist Party, he followed the revolutionary ranks all over the world as a family. Because of his outstanding performance, the party organization thought that he could be of great use, so they arranged for him to lead the anti-Japanese activities in the northeast. The first thing Yang Jingyu did after arriving in the northeast was to reorganize the "volunteer army" spontaneously formed by the military and people in the northeast into the Southern Manchurian guerrilla unit of the Thirty-second Army of the Chinese Red Army.

Under the leadership of Yang Jingyu, this team continued to grow and became an important revolutionary force in southern Manchuria. Subsequently, on the second anniversary of the "918 Incident", this team was reorganized into an independent division of the First Army of the Northeast People's Revolutionary Army, with Yang Jingyu as the commander of the division. Yang Jingyu led this revolutionary army in a strenuous guerrilla war with the Japanese in the White Mountains and Black Waters.

In this process, the sacrifice of the team was great, but the development was also very fast, and while fighting the arrogance of the Japanese army, it also increased its influence among the masses. However, during this period, Japan also accelerated the pace of aggression and continued to encroach on Kannai. In order to change this situation and turn passivity into initiative, the CPC Central Committee decided to reorganize the Northeast People's Revolutionary Army into the Northeast Anti-Japanese Coalition Army, unite all forces, and resolutely strike at the Japanese aggressive forces, with Yang Jingyu as the commander of the First Army.

Since then, the contingent has grown step by step, from a small contingent of dozens of people to a revolutionary army with thousands of fighters. In this process, Yang Jingyu has done a great job. It was precisely because of Yang Jingyu's insistence that the southern Manchurian region would not completely fall into the hands of the Japanese Kou, so that the Japanese army did not dare to act arbitrarily.

General Yang Jingyu obeyed the orders of the party organization, traveled thousands of miles to this white mountain and black water, led the soldiers to drink ice and eat snow, and played the banner of joint anti-Japanese resistance in the vast snowy fields, so that the people of the northeast and even the whole country could see that the northeast had not completely fallen, the people of the northeast had not given up, and the northeast was still Chinese territory.

In 1933, Yang Jingyu led his troops south and began guerrilla warfare with the Japanese. After two years of fighting, the First Army has developed the strength of 3 divisions, and is basically equipped with type 38 rifles, and the level of equipment has been greatly improved.

In December 1937, the Japanese army concentrated tens of thousands of troops and encircled and suppressed the anti-Coalition. In the end, Yang Jingyu successfully led more than 1,400 people to break through with the cold weather and entered the dense forest of Changbai Mountain to persist in fighting.

The environment of the dense forest of Changbai Mountain is very harsh, and it is ready to face Japanese aircraft bombardment. Many times it is a few days and nights of not being able to sleep and not being able to eat. Yang Jingyu led the soldiers to persevere and persisted for two years.

In 1939, in order to hunt down Yang Jingyu, the Japanese army formed a special advance team and sent a large number of aircraft to distribute leaflets over the dense forest to carry out political abduction.

Infuriatingly, during the breakthrough led by Yang Jingyu, the chief of staff of a regiment of the Guard Brigade was wounded and captured. This man was mentally weak and defected to the revolution, and provided yang Jingyu with his whereabouts, plans, and grain reserves to the Japanese Kou. This vital information was grasped by the Japanese Kou, and Yang Jingyu fell into a very passive situation and gradually fell into a difficult situation.

More than a month later, Yang Jingyu was only left with a dozen fighters left, and the Japanese were still in constant pursuit. To reduce the sacrifices, he ordered the guards to take the three wounded away and himself led several fighters to attract the attention of the enemy.

On February 18, Yang Jingyu's only two remaining soldiers were also killed, and he had to hide alone in the woods and fight with the enemy. Yang Jingyu fought while looking for food, and from dawn to darkness, he insisted on five days and five nights. On the fifth day, Yang Jingyu could not hold on, and the long battle had exhausted his physical strength, and even the ammunition was running out. Finally, he leaned against the trunk of a tree and engaged in a fierce gun battle with the Japanese.

During this period, the Japanese Kou continued to loudly exhort them to surrender, yang Jingyu was indifferent, did not waver in his revolutionary beliefs, and finally due to lack of physical strength, unfortunately, he was shot and died heroically.

When Yang Jingyu was only 35 years old when he died, Rikou cruelly cut open his body, but found that only weeds, bark and cotton wool were in his stomach. In the ice and snow of the northeast, it was revolutionary conviction that supported him, he who supported him with deep love for the motherland, he was an awe-inspiring hero, but the Japanese Kou did not intend to let him go.

After general Yang Jingyu's heroic sacrifice, rikou regarded it as a "great achievement", cruelly cut off his head, and took multiple photos, made flyers, and distributed it in the areas where the Anti-Coalition had fought. They believe that Yang Jingyu is the spiritual pillar of the anti-Japanese movement of the military and people in northeast China, and only by completely destroying this pillar can we suppress the anti-Japanese movement that has risen and fallen.

Therefore, they not only cut off the head of General Yang Jingyu, but even used a car to pull the remains of his head to various places to "show the public", so that the military and people in the northeast could see what kind of "end" it was like to resist Japanese rule. The Japanese army's move was extremely indignant, and their inhumane behavior not only failed to intimidate the heroic Chinese, but also aroused the patriotic enthusiasm of more people.

After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, our army spent a lot of manpower and material resources to finally find the remains of General Yang Jingyu and send him to the Northeast Martyrs' Memorial Hall.

In 1958, the remains and remains of General Yang Jingyu were buried in his hometown. At this time, 18 years had passed since the death of General Yang Jingyu. The party and the people have never forgotten this great general, nor have they forgotten the price paid by the Northeast Anti-Japanese Resistance League during that arduous struggle; as a new generation, we should remember history and strive to be stronger.
