Fate was too cruel to this woman, first to let her lose her son, and then to her husband
In 1963, Zhao Zhanying was born in the depths of the mountains of Yunnan Province, with only a junior high school education. He was born small, but he had a lofty ideal, that is, he would one day be able to put on a military uniform and shoulder the mission of defending his family and defending the country. At the age of 19, Zhao Zhanying realized his dream and he became a soldier.
At that time, China fought a fierce counterattack against Vietnamese self-defense, and Zhao Zhanying also became one of the many heroes who rushed to the front line of the war and participated in many battles. When his parents learned that he had fought in the war against Vietnam, they were proud and worried.
Warriors in the war of self-defense against Vietnam
I am proud that the son who still plays with mud in his memory has become a useful person for the country; the worry is that the sword soldier has no eyes, and the price of becoming a hero is countless crises behind it. Therefore, Zhao Zhanying's parents are worried and blessed every day and night that the war can end as soon as possible and that their son can return safely.
Unfortunately, heaven did not hear the parents' prayers, Zhao Zhanying could not wait for the day when he saw the victory of the war with his own eyes, in the Battle of Laoshan, he was unfortunately shelled, his thighs and buttocks were all rotten, and he was eventually killed. At the time of his sacrifice, Zhao Zhanying had just passed his 21st birthday.
Because the traffic in Zhao Zhanying's hometown was extremely closed, when the news of his death came back, it was already many days later. Zhao Zhanying's parents could not accept this bad news, and what they were worried about day and night had unfortunately come true. For many days, Zhao Father and Mother Zhao could only wash their faces with tears. Father Zhao was originally relatively weak, and after experiencing the great compassion of the white-haired people sending the black-haired people, he soon fell ill.

Not long after, Zhao's father passed away and went to look for Zhao Zhanying, leaving Zhao's mother to bear the double grief of losing her son and husband. After burying her husband, Mother Zhao thought of her son, who died at the age of 21, and couldn't help but be more sad.
Mother Zhao thought that when her husband died, she at least saw him for the last time and gave him the last ride. But what about the son? Her son was alone, but she didn't even have the chance to see her son's last face, and even where Zhao Zhanying's body was buried, whether it was a whole corpse, Zhao Mother didn't know.
So in desperation, Mother Zhao had a wish - she wanted to see her son's tomb. This small wish was too far away for this woman who could not read many words. But Mother Zhao never gave up, and whenever someone went out of the village, she would ask for help from others to ask the troops where Zhao Zhanying was buried.
In order to visit her son's grave, she saved up for 20 years to pay for the road
Xu was the heavens who finally opened their eyes and took pity on this woman once. Soon after, news came that the basic remains of the martyrs who died in the war against Vietnam were buried in the Martyrs' Cemetery in Malipo County, Yunnan Province.
At first, when she heard the news of her son's remains, Mother Zhao was overjoyed, and then, she fell into a daze. Malipo County, this name, she had never heard of, let alone know where this place was.
However, nothing can stop a mother from wanting to see her son's heart, And Mother Zhao doesn't know, so she asks everyone, do you know where Malipo County is? Then, finally, I asked her out. This Malipo County is 400 kilometers away from Songming County, where she lives.
400 kilometers, for Zhao Mu, who has never stepped out of the mountains, is tantamount to the end of the world. What is more crucial is that the Zhao family is already poor, and after the death of Zhao's father, they are even more destitute, and they do not even have money for road expenses. If you only rely on Mother Zhao's feet, I am afraid that just walking out of this closed mountain is a problem.
Mother Zhao knew very well that she needed money, but she was a woman, she had no skills, and she died her son and husband first, and even maintaining food and clothing was a problem. As a result, Mother Zhao could only save money. She never added new clothes, and the clothes she wore were all picked up by others. The food eaten can only barely keep food and clothing.
Whenever a villager asked Mother Zhao why she was holding herself back so much, she would reply, "I'm going to meet my son." But even so, Mother Zhao could only save some meager travel expenses a year.
So she saved this for 20 years. By 2004, ten miles and eight townships knew that in the villages under Songming County, there was such an old man who wanted to see his son's tomb. However, there was no travel expense, and he could not see his son for a long time. In fact, during this period, Mother Zhao repeatedly asked the township government for road subsidies, but she did not get a reply.
Mother Zhao went to pay tribute to Zhao Zhanying
Until the news of Zhao Mu's saving of road fees was known to more and more people, and finally reached the ears of the Songming County Civil Affairs Bureau. After the Civil Affairs Bureau learned of Mother Zhao's deeds, it sponsored her, which made Mother Zhao leave the village and come to the Martyrs Cemetery in Malipo County.
At this time, Mother Zhao was already 76 years old, and had already entered the age of faltering. The mother and son, after 20 years of Zhao Zhanying's sacrifice, were finally able to meet.
The moment she saw Zhao Zhanying's tomb, Mother Zhao suppressed the sadness of these many years and released it together, and she cried bitterly on the monument. Many of the martyrs' cemeteries in Malipo County are martyrs who died in the war of self-defense against Vietnam. Therefore, many family members who came to pay tribute to Zhao Mother seemed to feel empathy and wept together after hearing Mother Zhao's crying.
For a moment, it was as if the whole world was crying. It's just that grief turns to sadness, and Mother Zhao finally got what she wanted. However, she could only accompany her son for a moment and then left. How can this make Mother Zhao let go of the heart that has been tied up for decades? She hopes that in the future, she will have the opportunity to see her son again.

The heroes did not sacrifice in vain, and the motherland did not fail them
Fortunately, more and more people knew about Mother Zhao and extended a helping hand to her. In addition, the road to the rejuvenation of the motherland is also getting faster and faster, and the traffic after more than 20 years is much smoother and more convenient than before, which gives Mother Zhao the opportunity to pay tribute to Zhao Zhanying in the future.
The second time Mother Zhao came to see Zhao Zhanying was during the Qingming Festival in 2006. In this traditional Chinese memorial festival, Mother Zhao was finally able to see her relatives like many ordinary people. After leaving this time, Mother Zhao came to see Zhao Zhanying twice. The last time was during the Qingming Festival in 2009.
At this time, Mother Zhao was already 81 years old, and her legs and feet were not as convenient as before. Therefore, this time, Mother Zhao visited Zhao Zhanying accompanied by her nephew and nephew's daughter-in-law. Xu is that she knows that after this time, it will be difficult to have a chance to see her son in the future. Therefore, when she left this time, Mother Zhao was extremely sad.
Sure enough, after going back this time, Mother Zhao's body deteriorated, and it was no longer difficult to support her to cross hundreds of miles to visit her son. Fortunately, although Mother Zhao's body was not as good as before, her spirit was still good. With the thought of her son and husband, she watched this human world for nearly 10 years. Then in 2018, he unfortunately died at home at the age of 90, which can also be called a high-life old man.
Perhaps, Mother Zhao has been alone in this world for so long, but also instead of her husband and son, she will take another look at this wonderful world and look at this new China that has developed so rapidly. Or when the family is reunited in another way, Mother Zhao can tell Zhao Zhanying that you did not sacrifice in vain! The motherland is strong!
During the war, there were not a few martyrs like Zhao Zhanying who sacrificed their lives. What's more, even the corpse may not be found, and in the end, it is only a crown tomb. But whatever form they ultimately remain in the world should not be forgotten.
Because the motherland can have today's prosperity, we can have today's peaceful and peaceful life, inseparable from the sacrifice of martyrs such as Zhao Zhanying.
