In 1979, Vietnam delusionally became the hegemon of Southeast Asia, and with the support of the Soviet Union, Vietnam frequently created panic on the mainland's Yunnan border. At that time, the mainland adhered to the attitude of peaceful settlement and repeatedly negotiated with the Vietnamese side. However, Vietnam's ambitions were terrible, and the mainland had no choice but to launch a counterattack in self-defense against Vietnam.
In less than a month's war, China's iron horse drove straight to Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, to achieve the ideal goal of the war. But as PLA fighters withdrew and returned home, Vietnam's sense of revenge erupted. Since then, the mainland has fought a 10-year-long "Two Mountains Round War" with Vietnam. Zhao Zhanying died heroically on the battlefield of the Battle of the Two Mountains.
