In the last few days of 2021, as a member of the WEILAI user pilot group, I was the first to experience the latest Aspen 3.1.0 system of WEILAI.

This is the first FOTA upgrade of WEILAI after entering 2022, and it is also a major version of the update, with more than 10 new features and more than 20 function optimizations, including the new light color, Bluetooth key that Weilai car owners are very concerned about, as well as the optimization of air suspension, NIO Pilot, and NOMI.

1. Added light color mode

2. Optimization of instruments and vehicles

3. Add bluetooth key

Due to the very high voice of users, based on the existing hardware Weilai or "forced" to develop the Bluetooth key function, so the use of Weilai's Bluetooth key needs to open the APP point unlock button, and can not be insensitive. And due to the large number of mobile phone brands and models that need to be adapted, some models of mobile phones may have a certain probability that Bluetooth will not be connected. It is recommended that the owner keep an extra NFC card key when using it, just in case.

However, after having a Bluetooth key, the mobile phone can also act as a car key in the networkless environment, perform the function of unlocking/locking and starting the vehicle, and can realize the "summoning function" at a longer distance (the need to open a large NP), remote control vehicle forward and backward, and the car experience of special use scenarios has been improved.

4. Air suspension optimization

The new version optimizes the consistency of the air suspension experience, improving the existing "Schrödinger state" that is sometimes tight and sometimes loose. 5. AUTO HOLD is automatically activated

Although after the experience, we found that automatic activation is indeed more convenient than deep pedal activation, many pilot group users like this new activation method, but because of the poor smoothness of automatic activation in low-speed following, ramps and other scenarios, this function is temporarily removed from the official push system version.

6. Assisted driving optimization

To be honest, NIO Pilot assisted driving has done quite well in terms of user experience, and this time Weilai's "details maniac" has made 4 optimizations:

Added the function of adjusting the speed limit when stopping

Added a one-click adjustment to the current road speed limit function

Optimize cornering speed control

Optimize the deceleration experience when the cruising speed is lower than the current speed

However, it needs to be reminded again that the new version of NIO Pilot has stronger cornering capabilities and a better user experience, but it is still assisted driving, and the driver needs to pay attention to the road conditions when using it, ready to take over the vehicle at any time.

7. Other optimizations

NIO has always paid great attention to user experience and details, and this new version has many detailed optimizations, including but not limited to:

NOMI supports more car control and media instructions

NOMI supports one-word direct access

NOMI supports dual wake words (official version temporarily removed)

The speed of automatic parking search has been increased to 21km/h

Automatic parking reduces in-place hitting directions

Added dynamic transparent chassis

Added English version of the system

Added Task Manager

Optimized the notification menu bar

Once upon a time, OTAs were considered to be the "patching" functions that only imperfect products need, but now the smart cars represented by Tesla, Weilai, and Xiaopeng have proved again and again with OTAs that OTAs are essential features of smart cars in the new era and the key to continuously improving the user experience.
