Find My workflow

1. After using the Find My app and a Find My peripheral connection, they negotiate a pair of key pairs. The Find My app holds the private and public keys; peripherals hold the public keys.

2. The peripheral, as a BLE beacon, constantly broadcasts a changing key (derived from the public key).

3, the surrounding Apple devices (iPad, iPhone, etc., can be other people's devices) after detecting this broadcast, will combine the key inside with their own positioning data, package and upload to the Apple server.

4. Find My app gets these positioning reports from the server and parses out the relevant positioning data.

Bluetooth BLE is a personal lan area network technology designed and sold by the Bluetooth Technology Alliance for emerging applications in healthcare, sports and fitness, beacons, security, home entertainment and other fields. Compared to classic Bluetooth, Bluetooth Low Energy is designed to maintain the same communication range while significantly reducing power consumption and cost.

Bluetooth low energy chips have the advantages of long transmission, low power consumption and low latency. In terms of transmission distance, classic Bluetooth is only 10-100 meters, and BLE can transmit up to 300 meters; in terms of connection, classic Bluetooth can only be transmitted through point-to-point mode, and BLE devices can be connected to other devices through point-to-point, broadcasting, mesh networking; the difference between the two is huge in power consumption, Bluetooth low energy operation and standby power consumption is extremely low, using a coin cell battery can work continuously for months or even years.

In the future, Find My will be independently networked, and the addition of third-party devices will enrich the territory of Find My Network. Find My Network will provide third-party interfaces to provide better service. It will not compromise user privacy, and neither Apple nor third parties will know the specific location of the phone except for the user. Apple's Find My technology uses the Bluetooth wireless signal of Apple devices to create a network of devices to look for lost items, and they will work with third-party companies to create Find My Network anti-loss products.

Lenz Technology has many Bluetooth product solutions that use the Find My function. Find My function practical application scenarios: children's watches, car keys, pet collars, anti-lost shoes, smart crutches, anti-loss school bags, wallets, card bags.
