As a major implementation project of Shanghai imported from Lingang New Area, New Micro Semiconductor was established in January 2020, guided by the window of the National Development and Reform Commission in August 2020, and listed as a major construction project in Shanghai in February 2021, and was approved to establish the Shanghai Engineering Technology Research Center. The first phase of the project realized the certificate in the same year, started construction in the same year, and successfully completed the capping of the clean plant structure of the mass production line, the equipment moved in and the completion of the production line one year after the start of construction, which was an "important puzzle" for Shanghai to spell out the compound semiconductor project.
According to a previous report by Jiwei Network, the new micro-compound semiconductor industrialization project is mainly positioned in the compound semiconductor material and device technology development platform and mass production line, and the first pile foundation was laid at the end of September last year, and the structure of the "mass production line clean plant" was capped in early May this year.
The first phase of the new micro-semiconductor plans to invest 1.5 billion yuan to build a mass production line for compound semiconductor devices, which is expected to be completed and put into use in the fourth quarter of 2021.
Shanghai Xinwei Semiconductor Co., Ltd. was jointly initiated by Shanghai Lianhe Investment Co., Ltd., Shanghai Lingang Guanwei Investment and Development Co., Ltd., Shanghai Xinwei Technology Group Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Xinwei Technology R&D Center Co., Ltd., and completed registration in Shanghai Lingang New Area in January 2020.
