In 1942, in order to completely crush the Chinese garrison in Shanxi, the Invading Japanese Army mobilized superior troops and launched an all-out attack on the anti-Japanese base areas in the southwest of Jinxi along the Fenhe River. For the combat effectiveness of the Jin Sui Army at that time, the Japanese army can be described as very disdainful.
As the commander-in-chief, Yoshio Iwamatsu (then the first

The commander, lieutenant general) even arrogantly declared,
“
Using a scarecrow to wear a military hat can scare the Shanxi Army away

In order to crush the Japanese offensive, Yan Xishan began to mobilize all his forces to the front line, and ordered the 34th Army to cross the Fenhe River and fight to the death with the incoming enemy. Among these soldiers who defended their families and defended the country, there was an anti-Japanese general, Wang Fengshan.

Wang Fengshan was born in Wutai, Shanxi, and came from a poor family when he was young. During the day, he followed his brother and father to work in the fields, and in the evening, when he finished his work, he listened to the teacher's lectures under the window of the private school, or simply wrote on the ground with branches. With this eagerness to learn, he touched the private school teacher, Old Master Lu.
In the past, there was Kuang heng, and now there is Fengshan Mountain
In a word, it is the best praise for him by the teacher. Old Master Lu not only accepted him as a disciple for free, but also called on the villagers to raise money for Wang Fengshan and sent him to Wutai County High School to study.
Living up to the expectations of the public, he was admitted to Taiyuan Normal School after graduation.
However, in the face of the devastated homeland, the young man could not sit still. With the ambition of rejuvenating the motherland, he was admitted to the first phase of the engineering and military section of the Taiyuan Military Academy in Shanxi Province, and after graduation, he successively served as a company, battalion, and regiment commander. After the July 7 Incident, he participated in the war against Japan in Shanxi.
On September 25, 1937, the Battle of Pingxingguan began, and after the Japanese troops stationed in Datong attacked the Huairen area, they suddenly changed direction and killed Ruyuekou, a key place around the Great Wall. Located between the ping-type and Yanmen Two Passes, Ruyuekou is a combination of the Inner Great Wall and the Yanmen Pass, and has been a place of soldiers since ancient times. At that time, Wang Jinshan was the commander of the 3rd Battalion of the 427th Regiment of the 203rd Brigade. The Japanese offensive was extremely crazy: there were aircraft strafing and bombing on the top, and infantry, artillery, horses, and tanks charging in turn. The battle was fierce, and corpses were strewn across the field. On September 28, Liang Jiantang, who was the brigade commander, was also killed by enemy artillery. In the evening of the same day, the Japanese army had torn through the main defensive line of the defenders, and the Chinese army had suffered most of the casualties, and successive positions fell into the hands of the enemy.
At this time, the battle situation was already one-sided, but Wang Yingchang still led the remnants to hold out. Seeing the heavy pressure of the Japanese army, the defender Guo Jinxi forcibly dragged the battalion commander down from the battlefield, and the two jumped from the cliff behind the mountain, because there was a sour jujube tree block, so that there was no major trouble.

According to his wife's recollection, after the war, the troops withdrew from Xinzhou to reorganize, and Wang Fengshan once stopped by to return to Wutai to visit.
He was still in good spirits before the expedition a few months ago, but at this time his face was sallow and his voice was hoarse, and he could not even speak. Even on his gray military coat, there were several bullet holes.
In the following years, Wang Fengshan successively served as the deputy commander of the 427th Regiment, the commander of the Military Assault Regiment, and the colonel of the 1st Brigade of the Military Instruction Regiment. In the autumn of 1940, he was transferred to the Second Theater Commander's Department as Deputy Director of the Finishing Division. He was meticulous in planning supplies and training, and won many praises from soldiers and staff.
Later, due to the war on the front line, he was promoted to brigade commander of the 218th Brigade of the Army. Subsequently, again

The Provisional 45th Division was also the first Chinese army to cross the Fenhe River and engage the Japanese army in a fierce battle.
In June 1942, the Japanese 41st Division and the enemy and puppet units, totaling more than 20,000 troops, divided into seven roads and tried to besiege and eat the 34th Army. At this time, the war situation was already quite unfavorable:
The commander of the army, Wang Qianyuan, was wounded and sent back to Fenbei for treatment, and the burden of command fell into the hands of Wang Fengshan; the army belonged to the first
The division was completely annihilated by the Japanese army, and the division commander Liu Qian was dismissed after he fled;

The division was defeated by the enemy and had to be reduced to pieces, and the officers and men survived on their own. Even Zhao Gong, the commander of the division, fled back alone.
At this time, only the Provisional 45th Division was still fighting in the area of Wanquan and Ronghe. In a period of 28 days, the provisional 45th Division killed and wounded nearly 900 people.
The enemy troops, who had been repeatedly frustrated, even shouted that "those who capture Wang Fengshan alive will be rewarded with silver dollars."
wan" slogan.
On June 16, the defeated Japanese army mobilized troops from all over the areas of Hejin, Wanquan, and Ronghe to form a crusade of more than a thousand people, and under the cover of chariots, aircraft, and heavy artillery, they launched a "wheel war" on the road and launched an attack on the zhangweng temple position where General Wang Fengshan was located. The general was not afraid, personally went to the front line, and educated his subordinates with the principle that "resisting Japan will be victorious, and sacrificing one's life for the country is the glory of soldiers."
The Japanese fought for two consecutive days and only advanced a few hundred meters.

Late on the night of the 17th, the Japanese army once again mobilized more than a thousand troops, supported by six or seven tanks, to launch an offensive against the headquarters of the 45th Division and the 2nd Regiment at Xizhang weng Temple. In the fierce battle, Wang Fengshan always refused to move the headquarters backwards, and even personally led the reserve to launch a counter-charge the next day, killing countless enemies with white blades.
In the afternoon of the 18th, a large number of Japanese troops continued to launch group charges against the main positions of the Chinese defenders. The two sides fought each other with flesh and blood, and suffered heavy casualties. Aided by intensive fire, the Japanese broke through the main position of the defenders. Wang Fengshan, who heard about this, then led a company of secret agents to counterattack. The officers and men saw that the Lord would be so brave, and their courage multiplied, and they went to the position with a single breath and fought fiercely with the Japanese army.
During the battle, General Wang was shot in the arm, and he refused to bandage and continued to lead the troops; subsequently, a series of machine gun shells hit his abdomen, and he wrapped his wounds in the abdomen and led his troops to break through.
With the support of the guards and staff officers, Wang Fengshan and his party finally broke out of the Japanese blockade and arrived at Pingyuan Village.
The troops jumped out of the encirclement, but the general closed his eyes forever, at the age of 36. The secret service company that fought with him was only a few people left at this time.
