A friend asked: Who in ancient China could be called "Wen Neng's pen to settle the world, and Wu Neng to Ma Ding Qiankun"?
The first character I remembered was Xin Qijie, followed by Zeng Guofan, although the two had literary skills and martial arts, but they did not fully meet the two conditions of "An Tianxia" and "Ding Qiankun".
Therefore, we asked Wang Yangming, the first brother of the Ming Dynasty, to come out and take two steps.
One
Wang Yangming, a native of Yuyao, Zhejiang, was the son of Wang Hua of Yuanlang. When he was a child, he was called a "naughty Taibao", and he was everywhere to annoy his father, and even the teacher did not pay attention to it.
Once, a private school teacher asked the students: Children, what do you want to do when you grow up?
Some people say that they want to be rich, some people say that they want to be a high official, Wang Yangming is very dismissive of this, because these things are too pediatric, and his father has basically completed almost everything. So the young Wang Yangming replied:
Grow up to be a saint.
The old man of the private school almost fainted after listening: this little boy of the Wang family estimated that his head was abnormal.
In fact, Xiao Wang Yangming said so, and this is how he walked, and he went to "check bamboo" at a young age and wanted to think about the principle of bamboo.
As a result he failed.
Two
As an adult, Wang Yangming did not let go of his youthful dreams, and at the same time he also questioned the theory of authority. So he went to monasticism, to study Buddhism, hoping to have an epiphany from it.
He failed.
Therefore, I had to follow my father's name and take the exam first. In the fifth year of Hongzhi, Wang Yangming was elected, and Li Dongyang, the first assistant of the cabinet at that time, said: This little king is afraid that he will become the next leader.
As a result, Wang Yangming said that he was very dissatisfied, and he did not go to improve his studies, but developed a strong interest in knives, guns, sticks, and platoons. This led to him failing to enter the list many times.
His father felt that his face was dull, but Wang Yangming said: You should not be proud of being on the list, and you should not be ashamed when you fall on the list.
In fact, this sentence can also be said to today's college entrance examination students, who are admitted as the result of hard work, and they cannot continue to work hard.
As a result, Wang Yangming, who has a "normal heart", finally won the jinshi at the age of 27 after falling off the list many times.
Three
For most people, being admitted means that they can gain fame and fortune and enjoy a lifetime of glory and wealth.
Although he was a civilian official, he took the initiative to become the "chief of the Military Selection Department of the Military Department"; this was a small official at the grass-roots level, bitter and tired, and his main work was to "examine the rank, selection, promotion, and merit reward of military attachés, examine the dangers and dangers of various localities, and build camps and floods separately."
It was precisely because Wang Yangming had grassroots work experience and had been tempered in the military department that there was something behind. In fact, Wang Yangming did not forget to think in his work, for example, he neglected a lot of songs about the use of troops.
However, "the heavens will descend upon the Si people, and they will first work hard and starve their bodies", and the same is true of Wang Yangming. In 1506, he offended Liu Jin by speaking out for his colleague Dai Milling: forty scepters, demeaning The Dragon Farm.
And his father, who was the head of the yuan, was also driven out of the capital.
Four
Wang Yangming was not discouraged in the face of adversity, but when his life suffered major changes, and he almost died nine times in his life, he truly understood the true meaning of "the way of the saints, my nature is self-sufficient".
In 1506, Wang Yangming had an epiphany and founded a branch of Confucianism, Mind Science. But at that time, whether the mind was useful or not, how useful it could be, no one knew, whether it was a mule or a horse, or it was to be pulled out and slipped.
But this wait, that's three years. In 1509, after the fall of Liu Jin, Wang Yangming re-entered Beijing and was later promoted to The Qing of Nanjing. At that time, his veteran leader, Shangshu Wang Qiong, said: I thought that Shouren had the talent of the world.
Five
What is the use of mind science? Did Wang Qiong really look at the wrong person?
This is another five or six years. In 1516, at the recommendation of Wang Qiong, Wang Yangming was promoted to the post of Governor of the Imperial Household and patrolled the Nangan region.
At that time, Wang Yangming encountered a headache, and thieves in the Nangan area were rampant, and even took the initiative to attack Yamen, resulting in the death of many landlords.
After Wang Yangming arrived at his post, after investigation, he firmly believed that there must be a situation of collusion between officials and bandits, so he designed to find out the internal response of the thieves, and used "tricksters" to surprise him and attack them unprepared to seriously damage the mountain bandits.
Others had a headache for more than ten years, and Wang Yangming only took a year to wipe out the mountain bandits.
Six
It is not enough to rely solely on bandits to verify the power of mind science, and next, Wang Yangming and his mind science will face new challenges.
Zhu Chenhao, the King of Ning, was very cooperative and finally launched a rebellion.
This time, he had bad luck meeting Wang Yangming. Wang Yangming received news of Zhu Chenhao's rebellion and immediately rushed to Ji'an to prepare to put down the rebellion. Wang Yangming knew that if King Ning went down the Yangtze River to the east, then Nanjing would definitely not be able to save it. If Nanjing, which remained as the capital, was lost, the rebels would have a certain degree of political initiative, and there would be difficulties in suppressing the rebellion.
What is even more worrying is that Wang Yangming has no soldiers at hand, what to do?
In the first step, he co-opted some local officials to put down the rebellion.
In the second step, he pretended to spread the word to the King of Qin in Jiangxi, and posted fake posters everywhere in Nanchang to confuse Zhu Chenhao, claiming that the imperial court had sent a total of 80,000 border soldiers and Beijing soldiers. This false information made Zhu Chenhao dare not act rashly and missed the best time.
In the third step, just as Zhu Chenhao was hesitating, Wang Yangming took advantage of the time difference and really hastily formed an 80,000-quelling rebel army to directly attack Nanchang, the old lair of the King of Ning, and force Zhu Chenhao to return to help.
Just as Zhu Chenhao returned to help, his terminator Wang Yangming appeared. As a result, we all know that Zhu Chenhao's dream of being emperor was shattered because he met Wang Yangming.
Later, someone asked Wang Yangming how he used the army? Wang Yangming said three words: "Do not move the heart", which is the purpose of mind science.
Seven
Wang Yangming pioneered the study of the heart, and Wen Neng was able to write and settle the world.
Wang Yangming suppressed the bandits to quell the rebellion, and Wu Neng was able to go to Ma Ding Qiankun.
It is precisely because of this that Wang Yangming is revered as the "True Three Immortals" who are "virtuous, meritorious, and righteous", and realizes the highest personality ideal of ancient and modern sages. ”
Because he was in peace with the world, because he was determined to be Qiankun, he suppressed Zeng Guofan and became a saint with the same name as Confucius and Mencius.
