Li Dongsheng was elected as one of the "Top Ten Economic People of the Year" TCL's revenue in 2021 will reach 250 billion yuan

"2021 marks TCL's 40th anniversary. TCL's 40 years of development has experienced the whole process of China's reform and opening up. On January 11, Li Dongsheng, founder and chairman of TCL, recalled a lot of emotions in the past 40 years in his acceptance speech. He was named the 2021 "Top Ten Economic People of the Year" on the same day. The jury gave him the award that he has been in business for 40 years and led TCL through the cycle, growing from a small local factory to a smart high-tech industry group with global influence.

Li Dongsheng also mentioned an important data in the above speech: in 2021, TCL (Group)'s revenue has reached 250 billion. That's nearly $100 billion more than in 2020. In fact, after 40 years, Li Dongsheng led TCL to start from a local enterprise that produced audio tapes and gradually grew into a consumer electronics giant. After joining Zhonghuan Group in 2020, TCL has formed three core industries of intelligent terminals, semiconductor displays, semiconductor photovoltaics and semiconductor materials.

At present, TCL owns a number of listed companies such as TCL Technology, TCL Electronics, and Zhonghuan Shares. Among them, TCL Technology is the largest revenue support in TCL (Group).

On the evening of October 26, TCL Technology announced that from January to September this year, its operating income of 120.93 billion yuan increased by 148.3% year-on-year, the net profit of 13.16 billion yuan increased by 538.5% year-on-year, and the net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was 9.1 billion yuan, an increase of 349.4% year-on-year.

Among them, TCL Huaxing, which started to launch the first 8.5-generation line in 2009, has always been the profit cow of TCL Technology. It should be mentioned that in the face of the pullback of the price of LCD panels, TCL Huaxing, which started with large-size LCD screens, is gradually exerting force on small and medium-sized screens. In November 2021, TCL Huaxing's e-sports display shipments ranked first in the global market share.

According to the "China Times" reporter, TCL Huaxing officially entered the field of e-sports display in 2019, and has reached cooperation with Dell, HP, Samsung and other brands. At the just-concluded CES show, TCL Huaxing also jointly launched a 32UHD 240Hz high-end e-sports curved display with Samsung.

On January 13, TCL Huaxing also told the "China Times" reporter that in 2021, TCL Huaxing has successfully mass-produced mainstream size e-sports products, and plans to complete the mass production of new e-sports product series with FHD/QHD resolution, 240Hz refresh rate and R1000 curvature in the first half of 2022. In addition, according to the "China Times" reporter, the T9 project with a total investment of 35 billion yuan in Guangzhou is mainly positioned in the production and sales of high-size value-added IT displays.

"In the future, in addition to the development of higher refresh rates, Mini LED backlight technology is also another trend in future e-sports, and TCL Huaxing will develop more Mini LED products in the future." TCL Huaxing related people also told reporters. In addition, it is reported that TCL Huaxing's new technology brand will also be launched for the first time at the AWE exhibition in March this year.

For the past 40 years of TCL, Li Dongsheng once summed it up in four words: "change and transformation". Li Dongsheng also said: "Entity enterprises should play the role of ballast stone of economic development and rely on technological innovation to have the opportunity to counterattack." In the future, TCL will continue to undertake the mission of the times and contribute to promoting China to become a manufacturing power. ”
