From January 5 to January 11, 2022, the "Historical Changes in Urban and Rural Areas: Hubei Enshi Ethnic Minority Education Research" detachment of the School of Social Sciences of Tsinghua University went to Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture in Hubei Province to conduct in-depth research on the current situation of education development in ethnic minority areas, review the development process and effectiveness of local ethnic education, and explore the impact of ethnic culture education on the cultural inheritance of ethnic minorities at the current stage.

Integrate national symbols and enhance the national cultural atmosphere

The creation of a national cultural atmosphere is a process of "moisturizing and silent". The members of the detachment visited the local schools and experienced the colorful scene of ethnic education.

On January 8, the detachment went to Laifeng County, Enshi Prefecture, where the Tujia family culture is strong, to gain an in-depth understanding of the history and unique customs and culture of the local Tujia family.

As the only school in Enshi Prefecture that offers bilingual teaching of Chinese and minority languages, the National Primary School in Baifusi Town, Laifeng County, has specially compiled a local family language textbook to teach Tujia language to ethnic students. Not only that, the school also uses the Tujia characteristic hand dance as a school recess exercise, combining the inheritance of ethnic minority culture with the school's education system to enhance students' awareness of the main body of inheriting national culture.

During the discussion with the Laifeng County Education Bureau, the members of the detachment learned that in the process of inheriting the culture of ethnic minorities in Laifeng County, each school has formed a unique ethnic culture inheritance education system, and is actively building a sense of the Chinese national community and carrying forward the core socialist values.

The detachment of "Historical Changes in Urban and Rural Areas, Hubei Enshi Ethnic Minority Education Research" entered the ethnic school, focused on the current situation of education development in ethnic minority areas, went deep into the field, and explored the inheritance path of ethnic minority culture, and the members of the detachment personally felt the attention and support of the local government for the inheritance of ethnic culture, and felt the diversity of Chinese multi-ethnic culture.
