Chen Anbao was born in 1891 and is a native of Zhejiang. In 1911, after the outbreak of the Xinhai Revolution, Chen Anbao threw himself into the pen and wrote from Rong, he entered the Baoding Military Academy system to learn the theory of militarization, and then graduated with excellent results, joined the Zhejiang Army, became a second lieutenant platoon leader, and then promoted to company commander, which was highly valued by the commanders at that time.
In 1926, after the outbreak of the Northern Expedition, Chen Anbao was incorporated into the National Revolutionary Army and became an officer at the level of battalion commander, after which Chen Anbao used ten years to become a division commander. In 1937, when the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression broke out in full swing, Chen Anbao was particularly angry after seeing what the Japanese army was doing in China, and he took the initiative to ask for help, hoping that he could go to the front line to kill the enemy. In this way, Chen Anbao became the first batch of nationalist troops to go to the battlefield of the anti-Japanese front to resist.
On the anti-Japanese battlefield, Chen Anbao brilliantly completed the tasks assigned by his superiors, although the equipment was not as good as the Japanese army, but he successfully pinned down the Japanese army, because of his outstanding performance, Chen Anbao was promoted by Chiang Kai-shek to the commander of the 29th Army. In 1939, with the progress of the War of Resistance Against Japan, the Nationalist army withdrew in its entirety. In the process of retreating, Chen Anbao took part in the Nanchang Defense War, but the Nanchang Defense War ended in failure, and General Chen Anbao repeatedly lost battles, and only a month later he participated in the Nanchang Counterattack.
In the Nanchang counterattack, because the Japanese army had already captured Nanchang before, the counterattack of the Nationalist army was particularly difficult. The Japanese army, with the cooperation of aircraft artillery and tanks, inflicted heavy losses on the nationalist offensive troops, and Chen Anbao's army also lost more than half of them. Chen Anbao knew that his weapons and equipment were inferior to those of the Japanese, but he did not lose heart and constantly mobilized his subordinates to kill the enemy for the country.
Under the attack of Japanese aircraft artillery, Chen Anbao's army suffered heavy casualties, after which Chen Anbao engaged in hand-to-hand combat with the Japanese army. In the course of hand-to-hand combat, Chen Anbao's division commander was also seriously injured, and Chen Anbao's troops also shot out their last bullets. Chen Anbao even sent his reserve and guard platoon to the battlefield, but even then it was still difficult to reverse the outcome of the defeat.
In this battle, Chen Anbao was unfortunately shot on the battlefield and martyred at the age of 48. How fierce was the battle? Because it was hand-to-hand combat, many of the dead soldiers were mutilated. As a military commander, Chen Anbao was not spared, and only one leg of General Chen Anbao was picked up on the battlefield after the war.
Because of His outstanding contributions to the war, General Chen Anbao was posthumously awarded the rank of General of the Army by Chiang Kai-shek. After his death, his family was properly resettled.
