IT Home January 13 news, according to the Wall Street Journal reported that on Wednesday, local time, the British Competition and Market Authority (CMA) said that it has officially launched an investigation into Microsoft's acquisition of AI and voice technology company Nuance Communications to determine whether the merger of the two companies will weaken the competition in the UK.

The CMA said it had set a deadline for a phase one decision on the deal to March 9. It initiated a preliminary review of the transaction in December 2021.

IT Home understands that on December 21, 2021, Microsoft's plan to acquire Nuance for $16 billion (about 101.92 billion yuan) was approved by the European Commission.

Previously, Microsoft acquired LinkedIn for $26.2 billion (about 166.894 billion yuan) in 2016, which was Microsoft's largest acquisition transaction, and nuance rank LinkedIn ed second.
