Apple faces an unprecedented antitrust crisis, and CEO Cook will personally lobby the Senate

The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee is scheduled to meet Thursday to enact the Innovation and Choice Online America Act, which aims to impose regulatory restrictions on big tech companies, including Apple and Google, by creating guidelines to protect competition and users.

In addition, it will prohibit mainstream platforms from abusing their webmaster powers, favoring their own products or services, putting competitors at a disadvantage, or discriminating against businesses that use their platforms to harm platform competition.

Apple CEO Tim Cook has personally called the Senate Judiciary Committee and met with senators to express his opposition to the Innovation and Choice Online Act.

The Innovation and Choice Online Act has sparked opposition from numerous tech companies, with others, including Google, Twitter, Spotify and Amazon, revealing that they are lobbying for a proposal for the bill.
