Xinhua News Agency: The world's first sales volume for 7 consecutive years! China's new energy vehicles "full of horsepower"

According to the data released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on the 12th, in 2021, in the face of the complex and changeable economic situation inside and outside and the pressure from the supply chain, China's new energy vehicle sales reached 3.521 million units, ranking first in the world for 7 consecutive years.

"Judging from the trend situation, new energy vehicles in 2021 have maintained a booming development situation of production and sales." Fu Bingfeng, executive vice president and secretary general of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, said that the rapid growth of sales in the new energy vehicle market has strongly supported the demand for the automobile market. It is worth noting that the export performance of new energy vehicles is outstanding. In 2021, 310,000 new energy vehicles will be exported.

The gradual improvement of supporting facilities has laid the foundation for the rapid development of the industry. By the end of 2021, China has built a total of 75,000 charging stations, 2.617 million charging piles, and 1,298 replacement power stations.

"China's new energy vehicles have entered a new stage of accelerated development, but they are also facing problems such as increasing pressure from international competition and stabilizing the industrial chain supply chain." Guo Shougang, deputy director of the First Department of Equipment Industry of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said that in 2022, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will accelerate the construction of charging and replacing infrastructure, and continue to carry out the pilot work of new energy vehicles going to the countryside and replacing the power mode. "We also hope that all localities will introduce more preferential policies for parking, charging and other use links, optimize car purchase restriction measures, and create a good environment for promoting the consumption of new energy vehicles."

In addition, in 2021, China's automobile production and sales reached 26.082 million units and 26.275 million units, respectively, an increase of 3.4% and 3.8% year-on-year, ending a three-year decline since 2018.
