The "post-90s" astronauts who built the "highway" of space-earth communication

Pictured here is a portrait of Lu Bin (taken on January 11, 2022).

Lu Bin, born in 1991, is the chief designer of the human aerospace engineering voice equipment carried by the Eighth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Group.

Astronauts who are "on a business trip" on the Chinese space station have unimpeded communication between heaven and earth, and they cannot do without a communication "highway" built by Lu Bin's unit. This "highway" is composed of voice processing, image shooting, data integration, high-speed communication and transmission equipment in space, and Lu Bin is mainly responsible for voice processing.

Although it has only been 4 years since graduation, Lu Bin has made rapid progress under the leadership of his master Huang Jianqing. He is responsible for the development of the space station voice processor, which realizes the audio call between the space station cabin, the cabin, the heaven and the earth, the out of the cabin and the Shenzhou spacecraft, and the delay of the real-time call between the heaven and the earth is less than 1 second.

The space station voice processor can not only allow astronauts to make phone calls in and outside the "station" on the space station like at home, but also "tele-link" with the Shenzhou spacecraft on the way, and even establish a "group chat". Astronauts can access chat at any corner of the space station, accurately set single or multiple call objects, and chat while listening to music.

"The road is long and the road is long, and I will seek it up and down." This is Lu Bin's motto. The next goal of him and his team members is to realize the intelligence of the voice equipment of the Chinese space station.
