The most cattle of the Whampoa Military Academy is actually the fifth phase, and Chiang Kai-shek will cry to death if he knows the consequences
Speaking of the Whampoa Military Academy, everyone knows that this is Chiang Kai-shek's territory, and it is also the military and political capital that Chiang Kai-shek values the most.
However, in the history of the Whampoa Military Academy, there have also been many famous generals of our army, such as Lin Zong, Xu Shuai, Chen Geng, Luo Ruiqing, Xu Guangda, Zuo Quan, Jiang Xianyun, Huang Gongluo, and so on. Moreover, one of the issues was almost specially held for our Party, and almost all of those well-known famous generals were from our Party.
This very unique issue is the fifth issue.
The fifth group of students officially entered the school in November 1926 and was divided into two branches, one in Nanjing and one in Wuhan. Note that during the graduation season of 1927, a major event occurred in China, the "April 12" counter-revolutionary coup, which announced the formal split between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, and the Wuhan government and the Nanjing government also formally broke up. Perhaps it was this incident that led to Chiang Kai-shek's discrimination against this period of students, who in the Kuomintang army generally did not achieve high achievements and could not be reused.
However, in terms of our party, there were many talents among the students in this period, such as Xu Guangda, who later worshiped the general.
Xu Guangda's life was high and bright, and when he was awarded the title in 1955, Xu Guangda, who was the first commander of the armored corps in New China, was awarded the rank of great general, but he requested to be demoted three times, and even the chairman said with emotion: "500 years ago, the general Xu Da, the second degree of Pingxi, zhiyong guanzhongzhou; 500 years later, the general Xu Guangda, several times gave up his title, and his fame was famous in the world." ”
In the end, the request for demotion was not agreed by the chairman, but Xu Guangda continued to write a letter requesting demotion. This time, the chairman agreed, and among the ten founding generals, Xu Guangda also became the only one who did not enjoy the treatment of the rank of general.
Next, there are three more generals: Zhang Zongxun, Song Shilun, Yang Zhicheng, and a lieutenant general: Tan Xilin.
Zhang Zongxun ranked third among the 57 generals, but in fact, with his qualifications, it was also appropriate to award the general. During the Liberation War, Zhang Zongxun was the first deputy commander of the First Field Army, second only to Peng Laozong, and Xu Guangda was still his subordinate. Moreover, among the generals, except for Su Yu, who, like him, served as the first deputy commander of the field army, the rest of them, such as Chen Geng, Wang Shusheng, Huang Kecheng, Tan Zheng, Xiao Jinguang, and others, did not have a higher status in the field army than Zhang Zongxun.
The Song Wheel of Time, the so-called "the platoon of cannons does not move, it must be ten verticals", is said to be the three fields and ten columns of the Song Wheel of Time. Yang Zhicheng was the first "great steward" of the Red Army, and created several "firsts" in the logistics work of our army: the first set of regular uniforms of the Red Army was produced, the first postal channel of the Red Army was opened, the first telecommunications system of the Red Army was built, the first logistics supply standards of the Red Army were proposed, and the first military logistics school was founded.
The chairman trusted Yang Zhicheng the most, and when he sent him to the Soviet Union for medical treatment, he specially entrusted his two sons in the Soviet Union, Yang Zhicheng stayed in the Soviet Union for 8 years, and also took care of the Mao brothers for 8 years.
Lieutenant General Tan Xilin, an old Red Army member who participated in the Autumn Harvest Uprising, was once the head of the Guard Regiment of the Central Military Commission, which showed the chairman's trust in him. During the Liberation War, Tan Xilin served as the acting commander of the Jiaodong Military Region, and the "generation" was Xu Shiyou. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he served as the first deputy commander of the Shandong Military Region, and the main commander was Xu Shiyou. Later, the Prime Minister personally ordered him to be transferred to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and became the ambassador to Czechoslovakia.
In addition to the famous generals, the fifth issue also produced an outstanding politician: Tao Zhu. After graduating from Huangpu, Tao Zhu engaged in political work, and at the age of 21, he served as the secretary general of the Fujian Provincial CPC Committee, and during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, he also served as the secretary general of the Central Military Commission and the director of propaganda. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he served as the secretary of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee, the first secretary of the Central and Southern Bureau, the vice premier, and the director of propaganda.
In addition, there are two very successful spies of our party in this issue: Guo Rugui and Liao Yunzhou.
During the Period of the War of Liberation, Guo Ruzhi was definitely a sharp weapon inserted by our Party in the heart of the Kuomintang; during the Period of the Liberation War, he was the director of the Department of Operations of the Ministry of National Defense, the chief of staff of the Army General Headquarters, and almost all of Chiang Kai-shek's combat plans were continuously sent to the chairman's desk by him.
Liao Yunzhou, who was also a very good spy, served as the commander of the 110th Division of the Kuomintang Army during the Liberation War, and his irreplaceable credit for the great victory in the Battle of Huaihai. In 1955, Liao Yunzhou was awarded the rank of major general.
Of course, the Kuomintang is not without a single famous general, and there are still two who can be named: Zheng Tingji and Qiu Xingxiang.
During the War of Liberation, Zheng Tingdi served as the commander of the 49th Army of the Kuomintang Army, and Qiu Xingxiang was the commander of the reorganized 206th Division, but in the end they both became prisoners of our army. After being pardoned, both were also important members of the Whampoa Alumni Association and fought for cross-strait peace.
