Observing the scene, BYD's TOTAL investment of 3.7 billion yuan and planning land of 650 mu of BYD DM-i super hybrid plant project is stepping up construction. The first phase of the project has been put into operation in July 2021, and now has a monthly output of 60,000 vehicles, which is the only production base of BYD's DM-i system in the country; the second phase is composed of 5 high-end intelligent manufacturing workshops, which is expected to be completed in May 2022, which will create the rain flower speed of the project to be completed and put into operation in 1 year.
According to Zhu Bin, general manager of BYD Changsha, after the completion of the project, Changsha BYD Automobile will become the strategic production base of BYD Group's most complete vehicle series, the largest production capacity and the most complete supporting facilities, and the planned production models include the new "Qin Plus DM-i", "Song MAX DM-i" and many new energy vehicles such as the Marine Series. In 2022, Changsha BYD Automobile will achieve an annual output of more than 600,000 new energy vehicles, becoming the first automobile enterprise in the province with a single factory output value of more than 50 billion yuan, and is expected to become the world's largest new energy vehicle production base.
Since 2009, when the BYD automobile project landed in the Yuhua Economic Development Zone, only one year later, BYD Changsha Bus Base was put into production, and with the world's first pure electric bus BYD K9 off the production line, it has become a global manufacturing center for BYD electric buses. Since then, bases such as cars have been put into production, and BASED has built a production base of a full range of products spanning the two major fields of passenger cars and commercial vehicles.
While deeply cultivating yuhua, BYD has established a comprehensive strategic partnership with Changsha City, and has laid out power batteries, high-end electronic intelligent terminals, IGBT semiconductors and other industries in other districts and counties. Today, Changsha BYD has rapidly grown into a global new energy vehicle strategic base with the most complete product lines for passenger cars and buses in addition to the global headquarters in Shenzhen, and is also the headquarters base in central China with the most complete industrial chains such as complete vehicles, three electric core technologies and intelligent terminals.
The continuous optimization of the business environment and the improvement of the new energy automobile industry chain are important reasons for BYD's continuous investment in Changsha. In the Yuhua Economic Development Zone, the park took the lead in proposing the "industrial chain" party building practice, explored and promoted the "branch built on the chain", and took the lead in establishing a party committee of the new energy automobile industry chain in the city. At present, the new energy automobile and spare parts industry has become the leading industry in the Yuhua Economic Development Zone, after years of cultivation and layout, the new energy automobile industry environment and innovation environment have been formed and gradually improved.
