Honor witnessed the opening of the Magic UI 6 and Honor Watch GS 3 through a press conference, and today launched the Honor Magic V foldable smartphone. Its main focus is to provide the perfect combination of an ordinary smartphone when folded and a large screen when unfolded.

To achieve this, the external display maintains a 21:9 aspect ratio and ultra-thin bezels, so the Magic V looks and feels just like any regular smartphone when folded. This 120Hz panel measures 6.45 inches and peak brightness of 1000nits. The internal display, on the other hand, has a 10:9 aspect ratio and a 90Hz refresh rate that is close to square.
The outer screen uses curved nanocrystalline glass, which improves the anti-drop performance of the device by 5 times. In order to prove its performance, the Honor executive who hosted the conference even did several drop tests of the Magic V mobile phone.
The hinge is another highlight of the phone, and Honor says it's made from aviation-grade materials. When folded, there is almost no gap between the bezels, which has helped the Honor Magic V earn the title of the thinnest foldable smartphone to date, with a folding thickness of 14.3mm and an unfolding thickness of 6.7mm. The hinge also folds the display into the shape of a water droplet, making the crease almost invisible, and if folded and unfolded 50 times a day, it can be used for 10 years.
The phone features the latest 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 5G SoC. It is said that its AI performance has increased by 300%, and it helps the Magic UI adapt to the user's usage scenario through the Magic Live AI Engine. With a battery capacity of 4750mAh, the device features an innovative dual-battery layout to balance charging and cooling. Its 66W wired supercharge means it can charge up to 50% in 15 minutes.
The phone also comes with dual IMAX ENHANCED-certified speakers for an extremely immersive video and audio experience. For photography, there is a triple camera unit at the rear, including a 50MP main (f/1.9 aperture), a 50MP spectral enhanced (f/2.0) and 50MP ultra-wide (f/2.2 aperture) camera. Even in foggy conditions, the Spectrum Enhancement lens helps capture detailed images. For selfies, there are dual 42MP cameras, one on the outside and one on the inside.
Honor Magic V comes pre-installed with magic UI 6, with a range of features dedicated to multitasking and split-screen use. It is available in silver, black and burnt orange. Inside the box is a 66W Honor Super Charger plug, a 66W car charger, and a phone case. The phone is available in 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB versions, starting at 9999 yuan.
