When they returned home and came to the house where the old man lived, the place as far as his eyes could see was already empty, and the old man had been frugal all his life, and there were few relics to be collected.
The children of the old man opened the cabinet where their father put the futon, only to see that the futon was folded into tofu blocks, very neat, and the third son, Lu Chunwang, could not help but sigh: "Our father is indeed a soldier, and his requirements for himself are still so strict." Lu Chunwang said as he prepared to move the futon out and put it in the sack.
At this time, only to hear a "bar click", something fell out of the quilt and fell to the ground. When everyone fixed their eyes on it, it was a wooden box.
Is there any treasure that my father is hiding? Lu Chunwang picked up the wooden box and couldn't wait to open it. I saw that there was a pamphlet in the box, which should be used for the father's daily bookkeeping, and the bottom of the account book was a few old photos of the father, which were very well preserved.

In 1921, Lu Wenhuan was born in Jiuying Village, Yangping Town, Lingbao City, Henan Province, to parents who were farmers of their own duties. During his childhood, Lu Wenhuan experienced the tragedy of the death of his parents, was forced to work long-term work in the landlord's house, did the dirtiest and most tiring work every day, slept in the cowshed at night, but was often beaten by the landlord. Lu Wenhuan was dissatisfied with this cannibalistic society and decided to learn a martial art to keep himself safe.
At that time, the warlords were fighting, and the Central Plains War that broke out between Chiang Kai-shek, Li Zongren, and Yan Xishan made the people of Henan suffer a lot, and in order to defend themselves, the local people were still martial.
After Lu Wenhuan got a little older, he also practiced martial arts with his playmates and practiced an extraordinary martial art.
After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japan, the Japanese army attacked Henan, burned down houses, and slaughtered innocent people. Lu Wenhuan was furious in his heart, and he decided to go to the battlefield to perform his martial arts and fight the Japanese devils. However, just as he was preparing to join the Kuomintang army, Chiang Kai-shek blew up the garden mouth in order to block the Japanese army, causing the Yellow River to burst its banks and the vast area of Henan to become a swamp. This man-made disaster has brought deep disasters to the people of Henan, leaving millions of people homeless.
Lu Wenhuan was so disappointed in the Nationalist government that he decided to join a force that was truly fighting for the people.
But what even he didn't expect was that this wait was a whole decade!
The People's Liberation Army fights
In June 1948, 27-year-old Lu Wenhuan carried a large knife and some dry food on the road, and drove for more than ten days to finally find a Platon Army team. Upon learning of his intentions, the head of the unit immediately agreed to his joining the unit.
Although Lu Wenhuan is a new recruit, he is growing very fast. In one battle, Lu Wenhuan and more than a dozen comrades in the squad laid an ambush on the enemy's inevitable path. However, when the enemy appeared, the warriors were taken aback: the enemy numbered more than a hundred people! Ten against a hundred, how should this battle be fought?
Without turning back, Lu Wenhuan laid a fierce heart and planted a large number of grenades with the soldiers in a narrow area at the intersection, and when the enemy arrived, he blew them to death with grenades. Grenades differ from mines in that they must first pull open the ring to explode. Lu Wenhuan was in a hurry, and found some vines in the bushes, one end tied to the ring of the grenade, and the other end in the hands of the warriors.
As soon as the warriors were deployed, the enemy entered the ambush circle, accompanied by several loud "bombardments", and dozens of enemies were blown up into the sky. Platon soldiers also took up their rifles and desperately greeted the enemy.
After more than an hour, the battle was over and more than a hundred enemies were completely annihilated.
The battle made Lu Wenhuan raise his eyebrows, and his class was recorded as a collective merit, and each received a military merit badge.
However, what made Lu Wenhuan really famous in the military was the capture of the bandit leader Li Zikui alive.

In 1949, after the end of the three major battles, the defeat of the Kuomintang was a foregone conclusion, and many Kuomintang officers planned an uprising, hoping to make meritorious contributions. The area of western Henan, where Lu Wenhuan was located, was garrisoned by the Kuomintang Provisional Third Column, and the commander was named Liu Xicheng.
Liu Xicheng was born in Huangpu I, fought Japanese devils, fought in the civil war, but by 1949, he was so disappointed in the Nationalist government that he decided to lead his troops to revolt in Lingbao County and surrender to the People's Liberation Army. However, what he did not expect was that this plan was known to his subordinate Li Zikui.
Li Zikui was a famous bandit in Lingbao County, who was like an emperor of the earth on weekdays, with a group of his men in the fish and meat township, and did no evil, and later he was absorbed by the Kuomintang and served as the leader of the first regiment of the provisional third column. After learning of Liu Xicheng's plan, Li Zikui ostensibly supported the uprising, but secretly reported to Hu Zongnan.
On June 10, 1949, Liu Xicheng led his troops to revolt in Lingbao County, but Li Zikui colluded with more than 5,000 reactionary forces to sneak into Lingbao County, resulting in an incomplete uprising.

Soon after, Li Zikui was appointed by Hu Zongnan as the commander of the provisional third column, with his own five thousand miscellaneous troops, influencing the pace of the Liberation Army's liberation of Lingbao County. Li Zikui led his troops to fight several major battles with the People's Liberation Army, and was defeated one after another.
Seeing that his general trend was gone, Li Zikui could not take care of those remnants of the soldiers and sneaked back to his hometown of Majiazhai in Lingbao County alone.
With the large army of the People's Liberation Army stationed in Lingbao, the people of Lingbao were liberated. But there is still a huge problem in front of the PLA: Where is the bandit leader Li Zikui hiding?
In December 1949, the People's Liberation Army received reports from the masses that Li Zikui was hiding in the home of a landlord named Jian'an in Majiazhai in an attempt to pass the customs in a confused manner.
After receiving the information, the People's Liberation Army immediately organized a commando team of 12 fighters to arrest Li Zikui. Lu Wenhuan was also selected for the commando team due to his athletic skills.
After receiving the order, Lu Wenhuan and his party of 12 people rushed to the Jian'an Home. Jian'an was very knowledgeable about current affairs, knew that there was no good fruit to eat for the bandits, and took the initiative to explain Li Zikui's hiding place. Jian Sheriff told the commando fighters that there was a hole in his house that he used to escape during the war.
This cave has two exits, one at home and one in the wild, and there is a dark hole in the cave, in which Li Zikui is hiding.
The commando captain divided the team into two groups, one group blocked the opening of the cave in the house, and the other group blocked the opening of the hole in the field to prevent Li Zikui from escaping, and at the same time let Lu Wenhuan and Jian Ping'an enter the cave together to lure Li Zikui out. Why Lu Wenhuan? On the one hand, there should not be too many people entering the cave to avoid hitting the grass and snakes, on the other hand, the captain had already heard about Lu Wenhuan's martial arts, so he was most at ease.
After entering the cave, Jian Zhi'an shouted while leading the way in front: "Zi Kui, I am coming, you must not shoot casually!" ”
At this time, Lu Wenhuan saw a figure flash by, although he couldn't see what the person looked like, but there was only one person hidden in the cave, not Li Zikui who else could be!
"Don't move!" Lu Wenhuan shouted loudly, and an arrow rushed to the front of the black shadow and held the gun against the man's head.
As soon as Lu Wenhuan's voice fell, he felt that his abdomen was also touched by a cold thing. Only to hear Li Zikui shouting: "You have a kind of shooting, I also shoot, it is a big deal that the fish dies and the net is broken!" "The scene was deadlocked for a while.
At this time, Lu Wenhuan first calmed down, and the captain explained that he must be caught alive, and he could not shoot unless he had to. So Lu Wenhuan persuaded Li Zikui:
If you dare to shoot, you will be completely dead, but you have to think clearly

"Lao Tzu is afraid of something, and if he is caught by the Communist Party, he will also die, so it is better to gamble and see who of us has a fast gun!" Li Zikui was unmoved.
The Platon captured the bandits alive
Li Zikui said this on his lips, but he knew that shooting at the same time was not a joke, not to mention that he was holding a pistol, and Lu Wenhuan was holding a submachine gun. Thinking of this, Li Zikui had a plan, he deliberately threw the gun on the ground, and while Lu Wenhuan's attention shifted to the discarded gun, he suddenly shot out and fought with Lu Wenhuan.
This is exactly in the heart of Lu Wenhuan, who took advantage of his good physical fitness and kung fu to subdue Li Zikui in three or two strokes and push him out of the hole.
The comrades-in-arms were guarding the entrance of the cave with guns and bullets, and when they saw Lu Wenhuan grabbing Li Zikui, one by one, they were dumbfounded, and said yes, you printed him out and we arrested people, how come you completed the task alone?
Although he said this, his comrades-in-arms were happy for Lu Wenhuan and praised him.
The news that Lu Wenhuan had captured the leader of the bandits soon spread throughout Western Henan, and the whole people boiled over, and he became a great hero admired by everyone.
In March 1950, at the "First Meritorious Model Conference" of the Henan Military Subdistrict, Lu Wenhuan was personally awarded the "Special Meritorious Service" medal by Chen Zaidao, commander of the Military Region and later the founding general of the People's Republic of China, and awarded a certificate.

In 1951, the overall situation of the country had been decided, Lu Wenhuan responded to the state's call to demobilize and return to his hometown, although he was a special meritorious man, he did not ask the government to arrange work, but returned to Jiuying Village and became an authentic farmer.
In Lu Wenhuan's view, in peacetime, whether it is a soldier or a peasant, he has made the same contribution to the country, and he has no complaints or regrets.
Lu Wenhuan put the award certificate of the special meritorious service in the wooden box and never mentioned it to his family, and the villagers did not know his experience, only that he had been a soldier and was a communist, but did not know what kind of merit he had made.
In 1984, the state implemented a regular subsidy for veterans, Lu Wenhuan could receive 9 yuan per month, and later with the development of the economy, the state increased Lu Wenhuan's subsidy to 395 yuan.
In addition to these subsidies, Lu Wenhuan never asked for the organization, and the family of six lived a life of poverty and never reached out to anyone in their lives.
It was not until the death of the elderly Lu Wenhuan and the children were collecting his belongings that they accidentally found the special merit certificate hidden in the quilt, so they verified the true identity of his father with the local government, and Lu Wenhuan's special meritorious service identity was made public.
