Sun Xianghui, director of the China Film Archive and director of the China Film Art Research Center, Gu Guoqing, head of China Film Overseas Promotion Co., Ltd., Wang Mingzhu, deputy director of the Film Bureau of Jiangsu Province, China, and Jin Jie, member of the Standing Committee of the Suzhou Municipal Party Committee and director of the Publicity Department, attended the event.

Sun Xianghui said in his speech that this screening activity is an important part of the series of activities of the "Meet Beijing meet Jiangnan" Suzhou Culture and Art Exhibition Week, through the theme film display, Suzhou brought its traditional culture to Beijing, so that Beijing citizens felt the strong charm of Jiangnan. As an important national film archive and cultural exchange institution, the China Film Archive has been actively promoting the dissemination of traditional Chinese culture. She said: "In the past two years, we have done two consecutive 'Tribute to Classic International Restoration Film Exhibition' in Suzhou, and we have been deeply impressed by Suzhou's unique cultural charm and open and innovative image temperament. Jin Jie said that the film "Tiangong Suzuo" focuses on 9 traditional handicrafts in Suzhou, not only showing a piece of ingenious artwork, but also focusing on the "people" of the art, telling the past and present lives of these crafts from the perspective of 12 representative inheritors of intangible cultural heritage, as well as the warm story between each inheritor and the craft. "This documentary embodies the attitude and values of contemporary Chinese, and also embodies the spirit of Chinese craftsmen in the new era."

After the screening of the film, Sha Dan, curator of the China Film Archive, exchanged views with Zhou Jianming, a national representative inheritor of the nuclear carving of the national intangible cultural heritage project, Song Weidong, a representative inheritor of Jiangsu Province, a representative inheritor of the national intangible cultural heritage project, Chen Wen, a representative inheritor of the national intangible cultural heritage project In Suzhou, Wang Liqiu, a representative inheritor of the suzhou municipal level, and Li Hong, chief producer of "Tiangong Suzuo" and director of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Department of suzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism. The guests shared their interpretation of traditional Chinese art and aesthetic tastes, and also brought their own unique perceptions of the film to the audience.

The screening event also arranged 15 silk reeling machines, and there were on-site guidance from Suzhou silk teachers, so that the audience could practice the experience, feel the subtlety of Suzhou's traditional craft silk, and personally experience the traditional culture of Suzhou.

According to reports, the documentary film "Tiangong Suzuo" is guided by the Propaganda Department of the Suzhou Municipal CPC Committee and jointly produced by the Suzhou Radio and Television General Station and the Suzhou Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection and Management Office. The film selects 9 typical Suzhou traditional crafts of illumination, nuclear carving, Song Jin, Ming-style furniture, Su-style boat point, Su embroidery, Xiangshan gang architectural construction, silk reeling, jade carving, through the narration of 12 non-genetic inheritors, showing the flow and innovation of thousands of years of traditional crafts in the long river of history, highlighting the suzhou craftsman spirit of Shouzheng innovation in the new era.

The film has been released nationwide on July 10, 2021, and has received funding from the National Film Specially Funded Excellent Domestic Film Publicity and Distribution Project. It is reported that the film will also be released overseas this year, showing the world the era value of "Su Gong" and "Su Zuo", so that overseas audiences can get closer to the spiritual core of traditional Chinese culture.
