After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Chen Ruiting was appointed commander of the artillery of the Shandong Military Region, and at that time, there were no cannons, no shells, and even the troops were temporarily transferred from the infantry, but Chen Ruiting did not complain, and told the generals that the high-level would soon be transported to us.
In 1941, the top level launched the Anhui Incident that shocked China and foreign countries, although Chen Ruiting served in the nationalist army for a long time, in fact he secretly joined our party as early as before the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, when Chen Ruiting's troops were transferred by the high-level to encircle and suppress the New Fourth Army, Chen Ruiting immediately opened his identity and issued a statement saying: Now that foreign enemies are invading and the nation is in danger, I hope that everyone will take the national righteousness as the most important, join hands with the Eighth Route Army and the New Fourth Army to resist Japan, be a real patriotic soldier, and then lead the troops to revolt. When he first joined our army, Chen Ruiting was still only a light rod commander, and as a result, less than six years later, in March 1947, the East China Field Army established a special forces column, and Chen Ruiting became the first column commander, sitting on an equal footing with Xu Shiyou, Song Shilun and other famous generals.
After that, Chen Ruiting's special forces column showed its might in the Battle of Menglianggu, the Battle of Laiwu, the Battle of Jinan, and the Battle of Huaihai, and made irreplaceable contributions. Especially in the Battle of Jinan, Chen Ruiting commanded 500 cannons to launch a fierce attack on the city of Jinan. Because of Chen Ruiting's special contribution, the great man personally received him in Xibaipo and pulled him for ten minutes. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Chen Ruiting served as the commander of the artillery of the East China Military Region and the deputy commander of the artillery of the Central Military Commission, and was awarded the rank of major general in 1955. On June 13, 2010, General Chen Lao passed away at the age of 104.
