Pei Yan was killed, the whole family was raided, and the officials who had defended Pei Yan were convicted one after another, Hu Yuanfan was exiled, Liu Qixian was demoted to the position of Governor of Ji Prefecture, and the general Cheng Wuting was also beheaded in the army, although Pei Yan was anti-Wu Zetian, but also Wu Zetian also used Pei Yan to remove the nail in her eye that opposed.
In traditional Confucian thought, Wu Zetian was only a usurper, but as an empress, she also left bad merits, so after her death, she faded the title of emperor and changed it to the Great Saint Queen, buried in Qianling with the ceremony of empress, and left a wordless stele.
