In recent years, with the popularity of new energy vehicles, the mileage of electric vehicles has also grown rapidly, from the initial 200 kilometers to 600 kilometers. However, in the cold winter, the actual endurance of most pure electric vehicles will be halved, which makes car companies continue to sprint to higher mileage.

On January 5, GAC Aion LX Plus was officially launched, and four new models were launched, with a mileage of up to 1,008 kilometers.

In November 2020, GAC AEan released the AION LX, which was the world's first model with a range of 650 kilometers. With the development of battery technology by GAC AEan for many years, AION LX Plus has now been launched on the basis of AION LX, and the end time is more than 1,000 kilometers, almost double that of AION LX.

In the past 2021, GAC Aeon released a number of technologies to solve the anxiety problem of new energy batteries, such as super-double-speed battery technology, magazine battery, A480 fast charging pile and sponge silicon anode chip battery technology. The newly launched AION LX Plus is based on sponge silicon anode chip battery technology, which can reduce the volume of lithium-ion battery cells by 20% and weight by 14%. In this way, it can not only increase the energy density of the battery, but also reduce the weight of the battery. Moreover, this technology also has a significant effect on prolonging battery life and improving the reliability of lithium-ion batteries.

Thanks to sponge silicon anode plate battery technology, the AION LX Plus can achieve up to 144.4 kWh in battery packs and a battery system energy density of 205Wh/kg. Gu Huinan, general manager of GAC Aean, said that in order to ensure the supply of batteries, GAC E-An will build an independent battery cell production line by the end of 2022 to achieve small batch production. Among them, independently developed battery cell technologies such as magazine batteries, ultra-speed batteries, and sponge silicon anode chip batteries will be independently mass-produced. By 2025, batteries will be able to achieve a certain percentage of self-sufficiency.

In addition to the ultra-long battery life, in terms of hardware, AION LX Plus is equipped with three second-generation intelligent zoom lidars, which can achieve 300-degree cross-coverage field of view, dynamically adjust the refresh rate of environmental perception to 10 to 30 Hz, and dynamically adjust the vertical resolution of 0.2 to 0.05 degrees, which can accurately identify small obstacles at long distances. In terms of software, AION LX Plus has a unique NDA intelligent pilot assistance system of the same level, and the vehicle can actively select the optimal lane on the high-speed main road according to the navigation information and combined with the high-precision map data. Xiao Yong, deputy general manager of GAC Ean, said: "The cruising range is basically over, there is no need to do more than 1,000 kilometers, if the intelligence can not reach our level, do not say that you are a smart car." ”

Take the initiative to change

With the blessing of various technologies, GAC Aean has also achieved good results in 2021. According to official data, GAC Aeon's terminal sales reached 16,675 units in December, an increase of 119% year-on-year. Sales in 2021 reached 123,660 units, far exceeding the annual target of "100,000 vehicles" and doubling growth.

Rising sales also mean that GAC Aean's production capacity needs to be further expanded. On December 31, according to the announcement issued by GAC Group, the company's board of directors deliberated and passed the "Proposal on the Capacity Construction Project of GAC Aian's Second Plant" on December 31, 2021. Agreed to the implementation of the capacity construction project of the second plant of its subsidiary, GAC Aean New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd., with a planned production capacity of 200,000 units per year, to be completed and put into operation in December 2022; The total investment of the project is 1.81 billion yuan, and the source of funds is self-financing by the enterprise.

In addition to the expansion of production capacity, mixed reform is also the highlight of GAC Aean. On November 30, 2021, GAC Group issued an announcement announcing that the 6th meeting of the 6th Board of Directors had deliberated and passed the "Proposal on the Asset Restructuring and Capital Increase of GAC Aean". According to the plan, GAC Aeon will undertake R&D personnel in the field of pure electric new energy of GAC Research Institute, and implement internal asset restructuring through cash capital increase, asset injection, cash purchase and capital reserve conversion to increase registered capital.

To put it simply, in 2022, GAC Aean will become a technology company integrating research, production and marketing, open the era of employee shareholding, and introduce strategic investors to choose the opportunity to go public. Mixed reform enterprises are not uncommon, but GAC Aeon is actively seeking change and urgently needs new technical resources to expand its product lineup. After the completion of the mixed reform, GAC Aean will also complete a new butterfly change, and its main business will not be limited to selling cars, nor will it be a simple automobile company, but more like a technology company.

However, no matter which way GAC Aean changes, its current sales trend is enough to enable AEAN to achieve benign development. With the arrival of AION LX Plus, IT will also bring GAC AEAN one step closer to the goal of becoming a "high-end smart electric vehicle brand".
