On January 6, 57 new local confirmed cases of COVID-19 were all in Xi'an City

According to the website of the Shaanxi Provincial Health Commission, at 0-24:00 on January 6, there were 57 new local confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia (all in Xi'an), of which 45 cases were found in isolation and control, 7 cases were found in screening in the sealing and control area, 5 cases were found in key population screening, and 39 cases were cured and discharged from hospital. Since December 9, 2021, Shaanxi Province has reported a cumulative total of 1,940 locally confirmed cases (1,913 in Xi'an, 13 in Xianyang, 13 in Yan'an, and 1 in Weinan), of which 116 were discharged from hospital and 1,824 were hospitalized.

At 0-24:00 on January 6, 2 confirmed cases imported from abroad were cured and discharged from hospital.

Locally confirmed case 1, female, 67 years old, currently residing in Xi'an High-tech Zone. There were confirmed cases in the community, they were isolated on December 31, and the nucleic acid test results were positive on January 6, and they were diagnosed as confirmed cases of new crown pneumonia (mild) by the municipal expert group.

The local confirmed case 3, male, 52 years old, currently residing in Xixian New Area, Xi'an City, is a close contact of the local confirmed case 60 released on January 4. He was isolated on January 3, tested positive for nucleic acid on January 5, and was diagnosed as a confirmed case of COVID-19 (mild) by a municipal expert group on January 6.

The local confirmed case 4, female, 51 years old, currently residing in Xixian New Area, Xi'an City, is a close contact of the local confirmed case 60 released on January 4. He was isolated on January 3, tested positive for nucleic acid on January 5, and was diagnosed as a confirmed case of COVID-19 (mild) by a municipal expert group on January 6.

As of 24:00 on January 6, a total of 2,203 locally confirmed cases (1,825 cases in hospital, 375 cases discharged from hospital, and 3 deaths) were reported.
