I remember that when I was a child, my first impression of the Forbidden City was from the CCTV six sets of 1980s movies "Hidden Shadow", which said that the image of the Imperial Princess of the Qing Dynasty was found on the wall of the Forbidden City, so the Forbidden City spread a rumor of haunting.
This story left a deep impression on me when I was young at the time, so when I went to the Forbidden City, I once wanted to verify this matter at night, but the Forbidden City was not open at night.
However, in addition to the legends and stories of these gods and ghosts, the forbidden city in history has indeed had many legendary stories.
When I walked past Longzong Gate with my friends, I happened to run into a tour guide who was introducing the place, and we stopped in line with the principle of not listening to white and not listening.
When he introduced the arrow on the plaque, we all brushed our heads up in unison. I vaguely saw that the arrow was inserted next to the word "Zong" of the Longzong Gate on the plaque, but only a short arrow was left, and the part of the tail of the arrow was gone.
Here lives people with the status of an emperor, and the security work must not be bad. Moreover, Longzong Gate is still a forbidden door close to the emperor's residence, and even the princes and ministers cannot enter it casually, so this arrow is inserted in its plaque, which makes people think of it.
But soon, the tour guide announced the answer, and the arrow belonged to the Peasant Rebel Army of the Qing Dynasty. The rebel army and the forbidden army with the strongest martial arts in the palace fought in front of the Longzong Gate, and the result was that the forbidden army wiped out the rebel army, after all, at that time, both sides were not a level in terms of numbers and equipment.
This arrow must have been inadvertently shot by a member of the peasant rebel army. As for why after 208 years, this arrow has not been pulled out, it is because after the Jiaqing Emperor heard about this incident, he felt that the Qing Dynasty had never had such a thing before, so he promulgated the famous "Edict of The Crime of Encountering Change" to himself.
So the arrow was kept by his order as a wake-up call. After listening to this story, my friends and I were very sad. To be honest, this "warning" of the Jiaqing Emperor did not affect the later emperors.
Especially at the end of the Qing Dynasty, foreigners squeezed the Qing government, and the Qing government squeezed the common people, and the peasant uprisings continued.
Think about it, if life is really good, even if it can be lived, who will be full of food and run to the uprising? If you want to really "warn", the most important thing to do should be to solve the problem from the root, after all, the old saying is "blocking is better than slacking". On the plaque of the Longzong Gate of the Forbidden City, there is an arrow inserted? The Emperor's edict: Do not pull it off.
