- China's electric vehicle sales increased from 500,000 units per quarter to 1.9 million units, a cumulative increase of 280% year-on-year in four years.
- European EV sales increased from 500,000 units per quarter to 800,000 units, a cumulative increase of 60% year-on-year in four years.
- U.S. electric vehicle sales increased from 100,000 to 400,000 units per quarter, a cumulative increase of 300% year-on-year over four years.
- Electric vehicle sales in other countries increased from 100,000 units per quarter to 300,000 units, a cumulative increase of 200% year-on-year in four years.
China's electric vehicle sales account for a large proportion of the world's total
In the first quarter of 2021, China accounted for 41.7% of the world's total sales of electric vehicles, and by the third quarter of 2022, the share was as high as 63%. In the fourth quarter of 2024, the mainland accounted for 55.9% of the global total, and more than half of the global EVs sold came from the mainland.

China's market share of electric vehicles has increased from 5% to 38%, the fastest growing in the world, with the proportion of hybrid models increasing year by year. In 2018, hybrid vehicles accounted for 27.3% of total electric vehicle sales, and in 2023, they will account for 33.3%.
The market share of electric vehicles in Europe has slowed down from 2% to 21%, with the share of hybrid vehicles decreasing year by year. In 2018, hybrid models accounted for 50% of total electric vehicle sales, and in 2023, they will account for 33.3%
The U.S. electric vehicle market share increased by 10% from 2%, with the share of hybrid vehicles decreasing year by year. In 2018, hybrid models accounted for 33.3% of total electric vehicle sales, and in 2023, they will account for 21.4%.
