Lead
In 1985, a self-developed seven-axis five-linkage turning and milling compound machine tool was successfully assembled, and people were curious about how it broke through the foreign blockade.
The machine tool industry in mainland China has always been questioned not only internationally, but also in China.
In 1980, the machine tool industry, especially CNC machine tools, was too far behind the international machine tool industry, and the number of output CNC machine tools and equipment was very small.
The reason is that the machine tool industry technology was very mature at that time, and the mainland's own CNC machine tools started late, so it was difficult to catch up with foreign technology in a short period of time.
At that time, Japan's machine tool industry was the world's leading, and Japan's CNC machine tools are still leading the trend of the world, and no country can force Japan to translate, which was well known at the time.
However, the machine tool industry in mainland China still wants to make a breakthrough in this industry, and our CNC machine tools were originally imported from abroad and are based on CNC technology in the United States.
The birth of CNC machine tools.
In 1949, when Hilbert Moore, a mathematics professor at MIT in the United States, used the electronic cells of the brothers to determine the thickness of aluminum foil, he found that when the brothers used a ruler to determine the thickness of aluminum foil, the results were always inconsistent, so he decided to come up with a method that could reduce the error of the measurement.
So Hilbert Moore proposed a method - numerical control, which is to use the signal of electronic cells to measure the thickness of aluminum foil, so this numerical control technology was born.
After that, a CNC machine tool born in 1949 officially stepped on the stage of human history, this CNC machine tool was developed by the Hilbert Moore team in the United States.
In 1950, the CNC machine was put into production in the factory of Cincinnati Milling Machine in Michigan, USA.
Six years later, in 1956, the CNC machine successfully ran a technical report controlled by a manually written program.
This technological breakthrough marks a big step forward in the machine tool industry.
Behind this achievement, it originated from the defense industry of the United States at that time, because the United States relied on imports for most of the arms in World War II, so the United States planned to independently develop civilian military products, so as to reduce the cost of imports.
For the United States, being able to rely on imports is a big advantage.
Due to the birth of CNC machine tools, the interference of manual labor on machine tool processing has been greatly reduced, so that the machine tool has higher precision in processing, which is convenient for the manufacture of machine tools.
Therefore, when the United States produces this machine tool, it is mainly based on military manual command.
However, after a series of achievements in the United States were studied by Japanese technicians, Japanese technicians also began to conduct independent research and development.
After Japanese technicians developed their own CNC machine tools, CNC technology also matured, and CNC technology was introduced to Japan from the United States.
Since then, Japan's CNC machine tool industry has embarked on the road of rapid development, which is why the mainland's CNC machine tool industry lags behind Japan.
The introduction of foreign machine tool technology.
At that time, of course, the mainland also wanted to develop its own CNC machine tools, so the mainland carried out technical cooperation with Japan at that time, and we introduced some CNC machine tool technology from Japan.
And, with the help of Japan, the mainland also produced the first CNC machine tools, but by 1958, China's relations with the Soviet Union deteriorated sharply, and the Soviet Union accused the mainland of taking the direction of capitalism, so the Soviet Union began to sanction the mainland.
Under the sanctions of the Soviet Union, the mainland could only rely on itself, so in 1960 it produced its own first CNC machine tool.
After that, the mainland was also forced to learn to develop its own machine tools, and only produced more than 500 CNC machine tools by itself.
In 1961, when the continent produced the most CNC machine tools, only 2,500 were produced.
Since then, the production of machine tools in the mainland is even less than that of Japan, and the output of machine tools in the mainland has been around 4,000 units.
During this period, the technical staff of the mainland did not give up the research on CNC machine tools, and in 1970, the CNC machine tools produced by the mainland exceeded 1,000 units.
Until 1980, the output of CNC machine tools in mainland China finally exceeded 10,000, and the output reached 130,000 units in 1983.
Since then, Continental's CNC machine tool production has taken a global stake.
Development of five-linkage turning and milling machine tools.
In 1985, the core technology of this machine tool is based on foreign five-linkage technology.
The so-called five linkage technology refers to the linkage of five movements of the machine tool, and the five are the three rotational degrees of freedom of the spindle and two linear degrees of freedom.
The linkage between the movements of the five five degrees of freedom was very difficult at the time.
In the five-axis linkage machine tool industry, Japan has always been in a monopoly position, until 1980, the United States finally developed the first five-linkage machine tool.
It is this monopoly that makes Japan's ambitions greater, and also makes the United States feel threatened, so the United States and Japan have joined forces to blockade the core technology of the five-linkage machine tool.
This blockade is done by selling machine tools to the mainland, but at the same time not selling five-axis linkage machine tools to the mainland.
At the same time, when developing five-axis linkage machine tools in foreign countries, imported machine tool parts are encrypted to prevent others from conducting research.
Under this blockade, it is difficult for the mainland to develop its own five-linkage machine tools, so the mainland can only be developed on the basis of introducing Japan's five-linkage technology.
Five-linkage machine tools are divided into two types: vertical and horizontal, and Continental has developed a five-linkage vertical lathe.
After that, Continental developed seven axes, which are two more linear axes on the basis of five axes, and seven-axis machine tools are more difficult than five-axis machining.
epilogue
The seven-axis machine is capable of machining multiple workpieces in a single clamping operation, as well as complex parts.
The ability to develop a seven-axis machine tool shows that the mainland has really grown a lot in technology.
