The report mentions that in the direction of electrification, intelligence and networking, the new energy automobile industry will be strengthened. These include the completion of the second phase of saicar passenger car Zhengzhou base project. In this regard, Ding Bo, a deputy to the People's Congress of Henan Province and general manager of SAIC Zhengzhou Passenger Car Branch, said in an interview with Dahe Bao and Dahe Caifang reporter that in 2021, the car production of SAIC Zhengzhou Base will exceed the mark of 1 million vehicles, and the plan to transform from an automobile manufacturer to a travel service provider will be steadily advancing. In 2022, SAIC Zhengzhou Base will build another engine plant on the basis of the existing ecology, and introduce three new models at the same time to promote transformation and upgrading.
In addition, Ding Bo suggested that Henan Province accelerate the construction of new energy vehicle infrastructure, create more application scenarios for new energy vehicles, and then drive more new energy vehicle industry chain strong enterprises to layout Henan, and transform the advantages of transportation hubs into advantages of the new energy automobile industry.

Ding Bo said that in order to make good use of henan's advantages as a logistics and transportation hub and promote the realization of the "double carbon" goal of the logistics industry, Henan should accelerate the pace of new energy transportation infrastructure construction, create a new pattern of new energy logistics to drive the development of the new energy automobile industry, and at the same time realize the agglomeration and quality development of Henan's automobile industry.
"Increasing environmental governance and promoting the new energy of the automobile industry are the directions of national strategic support." Ding Bo believes that new energy vehicles are the carriers that can carry the above two strategies, drive Henan's automobile industry into a new period of development opportunities, and provide impetus for the realization of the double carbon target.
In Ding Bo's view, if Henan Province can take the lead in laying out the infrastructure of new energy vehicles, it will help create more new energy transportation application scenarios, including new application scenarios for passenger cars, logistics vehicles and other cargo vehicles, and ultimately create a good new energy vehicle development ecology.

Construction of a second engine plant is imminent

Since 2016, SAIC Zhengzhou Base has landed major projects almost every year, including phase I and PHASE II vehicle plants, engine plants, SAIC (Zhengzhou) data center, SAIC software center, parts cluster, new energy recycling industry cluster... With the growth of one project after another in Zhengzhou, the ecology of the automotive industry chain around SAIC passenger cars is also gradually improving and continuing to develop, driving the development of Henan's high-end equipment manufacturing industry.
In 2022, the first engine plant, which is a major project of SAIC Zhengzhou Base, will soon be put into operation. Ding Bo said that the engine plant is designed with an annual output capacity of 300,000 units, which will be used to produce SAIC's full range of automotive engines, which will not only be directly supplied to SAIC's Zhengzhou base, but will also meet the demand for automotive engines in other SAIC plants.
"At the same time that the first engine plant is put into operation, the second engine plant at SAIC's Zhengzhou base will also be officially started." Ding Bo said that the design capacity of the second engine plant is the same as that of the first engine plant, which is 300,000 units, but the production technology used will be more advanced, and the engine models used for production will be further increased.
For SAIC Motor Group's continuous investment in Zhengzhou and the construction of new industrial chain projects. Ding Bo said that SAIC Zhengzhou base is a base with OEMs as the core, and a more perfect upstream and downstream layout will help greatly improve the production and operation efficiency of the core of the vehicle, further reduce costs, improve the response speed of OEMs, and quickly provide quality services for the local market.

"It's not easy to achieve such a development." Ding Bo said that in addition to SAIC's own innovation and transformation and system capabilities, Zhengzhou's business environment, policies and practical services are another important factor for SAIC Zhengzhou base to maintain steady growth.
Especially since 2021, in the face of unfavorable situations such as torrential rains and floods, the epidemic and the tight supply of automobile chips, SAIC Zhengzhou has still achieved positive growth, with an annual automobile output of nearly 290,000 vehicles, corresponding to an output value of nearly 20 billion yuan, injecting vitality into the high-quality development of Zhengzhou's economy.
Ding Bo told reporters that Zhengzhou has become a hot land that allows enterprises to take root and forge ahead.
With the prominence of the importance of SAIC Zhengzhou Base in SAIC Group, SAIC Motor will introduce three new models to SAIC Zhengzhou Base this year, including an SUV, a sedan and an MPV, to accelerate the transformation of SAIC Zhengzhou Base by introducing fist products.
In addition, as an important measure for the transformation of SAIC Zhengzhou base, the "delivery center" and "customer service center" of SAIC Zhengzhou have been completed and put into use in 2021.
