Liu Xianrong, chief scientist of Hisense laser display, said that in the screen within 100 inches, it is difficult for the human eye to distinguish the difference between 8K and 4K picture quality, and the larger the screen, the more prominent the value of 8K. At present, the LCD TV image quality is increased from 4K to 8K, the light transmittance will be reduced by 40%, while the power consumption will be increased by 60%, and the power consumption will be greatly increased but the display effect may be reduced.
Hisense's 8K laser display technology, upgraded from 4K image quality to 8K image quality, can maintain the same power and efficiency, more energy-saving and environmentally friendly. At the same time, the anti-ambient light screen of Hisense laser TV also breaks the threshold of 100 inches, bringing laser TV into a new giant screen era. Hisense launched a 120-inch tri-color laser TV at CES, which is 44% larger than the 100-inch laser TV screen, maintains a brightness of 430 nits, and covers 100% BT.2020 color range, which is the world's first laser TV product to achieve the above performance.
Liu Xianrong also announced the technical circuit map of Hisense laser TV in the next 3 years, and the company will focus on the lightweight development of laser optical engines to improve the efficiency and integration of laser TVs. The new 75-inch and 80-inch laser TVs planned for launch in 2022 are 25% smaller than the previous generation. By 2024, Hisense is expected to reduce the size of laser TVs to 30% of the current size and reduce costs by 45%. This may promote the rapid popularization of laser TVs, so that everyone can buy 8K laser TVs in the future.
