On January 6, Julian Blissett, GM's global executive vice president and president of GM China, revealed in a CES live broadcast that GM is currently renovating production lines in China, and more than half of its production capacity will be used to produce electric vehicles by 2030. At the same time, the first model of the Aoteneng platform, cadillac Lyriq, which was pre-sold in November last year, will start delivery in the middle of this year.

Earlier, GM Chairman and CEO Mary Barra said in a keynote speech online that GM will transform into a platform innovator.

The Aotene platform is a new electrification platform released by GM in the North American and Chinese markets last year, and the models released based on the platform include The Crisius Origin pure electric autonomous driving shared car, GMC pure electric Hummer, BrightDrop EV600 pure electric logistics vehicle and Cadillac LYRIQ intelligent pure electric luxury SUV.

According to the plan, GM will launch 30 electric vehicles in 2025, two-thirds of which will be introduced to the Chinese market, and the new models based on the Aotene platform will cover the three major brands of Cadillac, Chevrolet and Buick.

Bai Li revealed that China is actively laying out the Aoteneng Super Factory to assemble battery packs for domestic electric vehicles. It is understood that the first Aoteneng super factory was put into operation in Shanghai Jinqiao in October last year.

At the same time, GM's new Ultifi software platform will also be launched simultaneously in the two major markets in China and the United States in the future, supporting GM products to achieve remote upgrades and laying a strong software foundation for the research and development and application of autonomous driving technology.

In the live broadcast, Bo Li pointed out that in the field of autonomous driving, GM adheres to the development path of multi-point development, and its rich technical reserves cover Cruise fully autonomous driving technology and assisted driving systems including Super Cruise and Ultra Cruise. In addition, GM invested $300 million in Local Self-Driving Startup Momenta in China last year to accelerate the development and deployment of next-generation autonomous driving technology in China.

"China will be an important market for change, and we will launch customized products and technology routes for the Chinese market." He said.
