In order to cut off this lifeline, the Japanese puppet armies around Weifang and Changyi often went to the countryside to sweep and massacre the revolutionary masses. In order to protect the safety of the "Bohai Sea Corridor", the revolutionary teams in Changwei and Hubei have sacrificed their precious lives.
In 1943, in order to encircle and "encroach" on the Weibei base area, the Japanese puppet army cut off the "Bohai Sea Corridor" and focused on strengthening the Caijialan stronghold. Garrisoned at the stronghold were three detachments and four battalions of the recalcitrant Li Wenli Department, which had secretly surrendered to the Japanese puppet army, but still under the banner of the nationalist army. These guys usually bully the masses with great force and power, and help the Japanese to harm Chinese, and the people are extremely indignant.
The Cai family column is the puppet army stronghold that is the greatest threat to the "Bohai Sea Corridor", and in order to remove this big stumbling block near the "corridor", the superior decided to attack the Cai family column stronghold. The battle was under the unified command of Zhao Jizhou, commander of the Qingdong Independent Regiment, and the troops participating in the main attack were two squadrons of the Weixian County Brigade, a company directly under the Qingdong Military Sub-district, and a company of the Changyi Independent Battalion.

The puppet army fled into the stronghold to resist stubbornly, and still wanted to stay up for a few hours, waiting for the Japanese puppet army in Weixian County to come to the rescue. They did not know that the anti-Japanese troops in Weixian County opened fire outside the city and made an attack on Weixian County, and the Japanese puppet army inside the city did not dare to come out at all, but only shot at the outside of the city indiscriminately.
Because the stronghold was full of wheat straw, a company of the Changyi Independent Battalion rushed over and threw horse lanterns on the wheat straw pile, and the fire soon burned, and the puppet army in the stronghold saw the situation and fled the stronghold in a frenzy.
The attacking forces launched a fierce attack at the same time, and soon the puppet army was compressed into the central and western parts of the village, and the two sides began a street battle. At dawn, the puppet army turtle shrank into a landlord compound to resist. Our army concentrated its forces on the onslaught and completely crushed the puppet army, and except for the puppet camp commander who slipped away in disguise, all the other puppet troops were taken prisoner. After the battle, the troops rested, and the county party committee immediately mobilized the masses in the base areas to demolish all the walls and fortifications of the Cai family column in case the enemy would set up a stronghold again.
After taking the Cai family's stronghold, the revolutionary team set their sights on the stronghold of Qingxiang, north of Changyi.
The Qingxiang stronghold was a necessary place for the "Bohai Sea Corridor", where the Japanese Kou built bunkers and trenches and imposed a military blockade. There was 1 Japanese squad stationed in the stronghold, 1 garrison squadron of the puppet army, and 1 pseudo salt police team.
In order to expand the blockade, the Japanese Kou went to nearby villages to arrest people and ordered the people to dig rivers to release water and block traffic. On the one hand, the Changyi Party organization organized the masses to carry out the struggle against digging the river, and on the other hand, it sought an opportunity to annihilate the enemy. Just at this time, Cheng Baichuan, the leader of the salt police who committed many evil deeds, arrested more than 10 salt people in Zaohu Village, extorted money, and tortured them to extract confessions. In order to rescue the masses and fight the enemy, the Changyi County Brigade decided to eliminate the fake salt police team first.
On this dark night, Gong Yugong, deputy political commissar of the county brigade, led the second squadron and the Liu Yan and Longchi militia to approach the salt police team. Intelligence officer Sun Mingde took several bottles of shochu, pork head meat, eggs, etc., and drunk the pseudo-salt police squad leader on duty. Immediately a signal was sent, the gate was opened, and the anti-Japanese contingent rushed in. At this time, the enemies were all sleeping, with a shout: "Don't move, whoever moves will be killed!" The confused salt policemen were taken prisoners.
Less than half an hour before and after, the battle ended in victory, more than 30 people of the pseudo-salt police force were all captured, all weapons and equipment were captured, and all the captured people were rescued. It wasn't until the house where the Salt Police team lived caught fire that the Japanese squad leader came, pounded his chest, and shouted, "My Salt Police, where is my Salt Police!" ”
In order to deal with the Japanese puppet army in the stronghold, under the arrangement of the party organizations in various villages, the revolutionary contingent and the masses chose to dig a ditch at night, directly digging a dark ditch from Bohai Bay to Qingxiang, so that the drinking water of the Japanese puppet army was turned into seawater.
In addition, the Changyi Independent Battalion also sent soldiers with good marksmanship to hide in the reeds and fight against the water-carrying puppet army in the stronghold. After more than a month of stalemate, the Japanese had to withdraw.
Relying on the masses and wisdom, the revolutionary contingent cleverly won the victory over the strongholds.
