On the tenth day| Cao Peng: The evening newspaper accompanies my literary and artistic life

I must read the Xinmin Evening News every day, and I must be with the Xinmin Evening News every day. For example, since the resumption of publication 40 years ago, I was 57 years old at that time, and now I am 97 years old, and I have been with Xinmin Evening News for far more than half a year. I am now in good health and clear-sighted, and three years before I turn 100, I am still busy with public welfare and charity and conducting symphonies.

The luminous cup version on the Xinmin Evening News and the column "Ten Days talk" have always been a rich world in the literary and art circles, and a microcosm of the colorful and charming literary and artistic circles.

One thing that I remember vividly is that on July 17, 2010, we held a concert during the once-in-a-century Shanghai World Expo. The next day, the Xinmin Evening News published very rarely two reports with photos on two pages of the same period. One is Mr. Shen Tsinong's "Joyful Woman Is Sacred and Beautiful, and the Light Shines Brilliantly on the Earth": Last night, in the variety hall of the Puxi Park of the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, the song of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony "Ode to Joy" sounded. Cao Peng, an octogenarian artist, was in high spirits and conducted a magnificent performance of singing peace and celebrating universal celebration in the face of a large orchestra of nearly 300 people and more than a thousand Chinese and foreign choir members. As early as 2006, this large-scale performance was set by Mr. Morishita, chairman of the World Amateur Symphony Orchestra Alliance, and Zhang Zhijing, deputy director of the Publicity Department of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee, and organized by the Shanghai Cao Peng Music Center. Mr. Morishita actively organized a band and choir of more than 100 people to go to Shanghai in Japan, but unfortunately he did not see the official start of the performance, and died of illness at the end of May. In order to inherit her husband's legacy, his wife endured grief and resolutely went to Shanghai, sat in the band, and participated in the violin playing.

The second article, "A Hundred Birds and a Phoenix", depicts the scene of cultural dialogue by Mr. Yang Jianguo, who wrote: A world expo allows non-professional musicians from all over the world to stand on the same stage and play "World Expo Strong Sound, Century Symphony" in the form of a concert of a thousand people, showing the charm of music! It has also received the support of the Propaganda Department of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and other relevant departments, and the preparatory work has been carried out rapidly. More than two months ago, in Shanghai alone, there were orchestras such as the City Symphony, Nanmo Middle School, Jiaotong University, and 17 choirs such as prosecutors, good young people, and female journalists, who threw themselves into rehearsals... In the orchestra lineup of more than 300 people, there are many foreign musicians. Some musicians had participated in the City Symphony Orchestra when they were working in Shanghai, and after returning to China, they heard about it, they took a leave of absence, bought a ticket to return to Shanghai early, stayed in a hotel at their own expense, and consciously participated in rehearsals every day. Choir members come from all walks of life, even in wheelchairs. A choir member with a lower limb disability said: "I usually use the profession of delivering newspapers to convey information to the public; today, I want to convey the message of the Theme of the World Expo to people with my own singing voice." ”...... Belgian conductor Alex conducted the "Mighty March", Japanese conductor Yamaji Jean played Horst's "Planetary Suite", and the 86-year-old Cao Peng appeared on the stage twice in full applause. This time, he planned 10 cheers and the band to perform "Birds and Phoenix", Shangyin Professor Liu Ying led the "birds singing" on the stage, the 7 cheers in the audience rose and fell, and the music in your response and me depicted the scene of cultural dialogue and mutual exchange between the countries of the World Expo. Last night, all the choir members sang Beethoven's majestic music clearly in the majestic music, and the audience was immersed in the powerful sound field and was deeply moved.

Thanks to the two senior reporters of Xinmin Evening News, they recorded such a precious historical moment for us. Thank you for your long-term concern, support and encouragement to me and our Shanghai City Symphony Orchestra. Over the years, I have also written many articles on the angry "Luminous Cup" and have been recognized by many readers.

I am fortunate to witness the prosperity and strength of the motherland in my old age, and I will work with Xinmin Evening News to make greater contributions to the prosperity of literature and art in the new era, to enrich the spiritual life of the people, and to usher in the prosperity of China.

Only this wish the teachers and friends of Xinmin Evening News happiness and happiness, a happy family and good health, and greet the arrival of a more brilliant new era of China in 2022 with beautiful music. (Cao Peng)
