Tesla's 2021 sales surged 87.4% year-on-year to 930,000 units

On January 2, local time, Tesla announced the fourth quarter and full year of 2021 car production and delivery data. According to the data, Tesla's global sales in 2021 increased by about 87.4% year-on-year to 936,000 units. In the fourth quarter, Tesla sold 308,000 units, once again setting a record delivery.

At a time when the global automotive industry suffered a "lack of core" impact, Tesla's delivery figures exceeded analysts' expectations. According to market research firm FactSet, Wall Street analysts expect Tesla to sell 267,000 Q4 units and 897,000 units for the full year 2021.

Specifically, Tesla Model S and Model X sales are less than 3% of the company's total annual deliveries. In the fourth quarter of 2021, the model 3 and Model Y deliveries were 296,850 units, compared to 911,208 units for the full year.

In the Chinese market, according to the data of the Association, Tesla has exceeded 50,000 monthly sales for three consecutive months. As of November 30, Tesla's Shanghai Gigafactory has delivered more than 400,000 units in 2021, reaching 413,283 units. Among them, Model Y is hoping to break through the annual new energy SUV sales list in the first year of entering the market.

In 2021, Tesla not only achieved leapfrog development in sales and delivery, but also opened more than 200 experience and service centers in Chinese mainland, laid out more than 60 cities, opened more than 1,000 super charging stations, more than 9,000 super charging piles, with more than 700 destination charging stations and a large number of home charging piles, has formed a relatively complete and convenient service network and charging network.

Looking ahead, Musk hopes to increase Tesla sales to 20 million vehicles a year over the next nine years. To achieve that, Tesla is preparing to produce the Model Y at its new plant in Texas this year.
