Over the past few years, Tesla has invested a lot of effort in in-car entertainment, from the Tesla Theater for streaming services to video games. The automaker is even doing some hardware design around entertainment, with Tesla's two flagship models previously updating the new large-size horizontal center display for more video viewing, and a new rear-seat display powered by a gaming PC.
Tesla is now making the model S and Model X's center display more entertaining by adding a rotation feature. The video shows that the Model S and Model X rotation functions are not horizontal or vertical rotation like BYD, but are tilted horizontally to the main or co-driver, so that the driver or front passenger can get a better viewing experience.
It is worth mentioning that the automatic opening of the front trunk function in the video is installed by the owner himself, not the official function of Tesla.
It's unclear when Tesla made changes to the Model S and Model X, but the owner who posted the video mentioned that the car was built in the last week of April, so it is speculated that both model S and Model X vehicles produced since then have been equipped with this new version of the central control display.
The IGB coin work plan understands that Tesla does not currently support playing videos on the center display when the vehicle is not parked, but this is expected to change in the future as Tesla achieves a higher level of autonomous driving.
