Mercedes-Benz's new electric car, with a super Tesla endurance, is equipped with solar panels and a 47.5-inch screen

Mercedes-Benz unveiled the Vision EQXX, an electric concept car with a range of more than 620 miles.

Mercedes says its aerodynamic design and lightweight materials help improve efficiency.

EQXX previews what Mercedes might use in future electric vehicles.

You may not be able to purchase Vision EQXX in the short term. But some of the new technologies Mercedes developed here could be applied to electric Mercedes-Benz in the future.

Mercedes-Benz said the EQXX was its most efficient model, suggesting that range anxiety could be a thing of the past.

Mercedes-Benz said the Vision EQXX can travel at least 620 miles when fully charged. That's 100 miles longer than the furthest electric car you can buy right now (the $170,000 Lucid Air).

If Mercedes's claims are true, the EQXX will be more than 200 miles higher than Tesla's longest range.

Mercedes gave the EQXX a teardrop shape to glide through the air, even more than EQS, the company's electric flagship. Mercedes said the EQXX is more aerodynamic than football.

The EQXX is also equipped with special tires that reduce rolling resistance...

There are also lightweight magnesium wheels.

Mercedes decided to reduce weight as much as possible. It cuts out excess material and uses 3D printed parts.

As a result, the EQXX weighs about 3,800 pounds, which is about 1 ton lighter than Mercedes-Benz's EQS sedan.

The company has also developed a new battery pack and drivetrain to optimize efficiency.

Mercedes said that in ideal weather conditions, solar panels integrated on the roof of the EQXX can travel up to 25 kilometers (about 15 miles).

If there is no luxurious cabin, it is not a Mercedes.

But the interior of the EQXX, like the rest of the car, is all about efficiency.

Mercedes fills the cabins with sustainable materials, saying this could reduce the car's overall carbon footprint.

The company says the door handle is made of a material similar to plain silk.

EQXX also features vegan leather made from mushrooms and cacti.

The Vision EQXX also gives a preliminary understanding of the future of Mercedes' interior screens. The concept car has an oversized 47.5-inch display on its instrument panel.

We already know that Mercedes is seriously considering electric vehicles. The EQXX concept car is another sign of Tesla's future battery-powered future.
